Overcoming the sun and rain to speed up the progress of the 500kV line 3 project
In the early days of July 2024, in Thanh Hoa area, the summer weather was both extremely hot and accompanied by sudden heavy rains, but at the large construction site of the historic 500kV line 3 project, the "orange warriors" under the roof of EVN joined forces, united, despite all hardships and difficulties, working in three shifts, four shifts... with enthusiasm and passion to ensure the project was completed on schedule.
On this occasion, nearly 300 officers, workers and employees of the shock force from 13 companies under the Southern Power Corporation and the Central Power Corporation were reinforced for the 500kV line 3 circuit project in Thanh Hoa province.

The officers who went to reinforce the mission did not hesitate to face difficulties and dangers, overcoming homesickness, missing their relatives, friends, colleagues and familiar daily work; all came here with only one wish and burning desire to excellently complete the assigned tasks, ensure the progress of the 500kV line 3 project, and soon bring a more stable and quality power source to the people and customers.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung, Head of the Shock Team from Tra Vinh Power Company, who is working in Thieu Hoa District, Thanh Hoa Province, shared: “When we came here, we were enthusiastically supported by the local government and the power company in finding accommodation and gathering materials. The local support helped us feel secure in our work, and also created great encouragement for us to try our best to complete our tasks well.”
The Quang Ngai Power Transmission Team, under Power Transmission Company 2, said that it has been nearly 2 months since they left for Thanh Hoa, and none of the team’s 20 members have returned home. In addition to homesickness, the construction process also encountered many difficulties such as harsh weather, rugged mountainous terrain, and continuous thunderstorms and lightning in the fields.

Mr. Tran Khuong Non, Team Leader of Son Ha Power Transmission Team, Quang Ngai Power Transmission, confided that coming from a distant province to Thanh Hoa to support the construction, his team of cadres received enthusiastic support from the locals and local authorities, such as being allowed to bathe and sleep. In addition, the leaders of the Group, the National Power Transmission Corporation, and Power Transmission Company 2 regularly cared for, visited and provided with all necessary necessities such as: medical cabinets, air-conditioned shirts, vitamin C and additional protective gear.
“Being away from home for months, I miss my wife and children. At times like that, I can only take advantage of my breaks to video call home to talk and ask about them to ease my longing. Many times, my children ask me when I will be back, and I just answer: I will be back when the project is finished. The date is not fixed yet, but it will be almost done,” said Mr. Su, an officer of the Son Ha Power Transmission Team.
Wives travel over 800km to support the "orange warriors"
Understanding the difficulties and hardships of electricity workers, many rear areas took buses to travel nearly a thousand kilometers (from Quang Ngai to Thanh Hoa) to the construction site to encourage and share with the "orange warriors".
Ms. Duong Thi My Trinh, wife of Mr. Nguyen Duy Thanh (Deputy Head of Quang Ngai Power Transmission Team) traveled more than 800km to Thanh Hoa and came to the construction site at column foundation number 153 (Trieu Son district) to visit and encourage her husband.
“When my wife called to say she was going to Thanh Hoa to visit, I was very surprised and initially did not agree because the road was far away. However, my wife said she had a companion so she was determined to go, then I agreed,” Thanh shared.

The companions that Ms. My Trinh mentioned were none other than Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngan (wife of Mr. Dao Thanh Minh, an officer of the Quang Ngai Power Transmission Team) and Ms. Vo Thi Thu Hang (wife of Mr. Trinh Dinh Sang, an officer of the Ba To Power Transmission Team). When all three sisters arrived at the construction site, the entire construction team congratulated them. Not only did they care for their husbands, but they also gave gifts to the entire team, making everyone feel warm and touched.
Mr. Thanh added that after a short time visiting and encouraging her husband, the sisters packed their bags to return home. Before leaving, the sisters told him: "Try your best to finish your work quickly so you can return to your wife and children," Mr. Thanh recalled.

More specifically, the story of Mr. Pham Van Minh (born in 1973, residing in Vinh Ninh, Vinh Tuong, Vinh Phuc) and Ms. Vu Thi Diu (born in 1979) has moved and admired many people.
Mr. Minh is working at Song Da 11 Company, has been involved in the electricity industry for decades, and is currently working with a team of workers in Khanh Son Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An. In addition to clothes and household items, Mr. Minh also brought with him Ms. Diu, his wife who has been with him for a long time.
After leaving their two children with their grandparents, Minh and his wife moved together to the reinforcement location. Diu will wake up at 4:30 a.m. to prepare meals for her husband and the other workers. While everyone is working on the project, Diu will continue to take care of meals and logistics to ensure the health of the workers and ensure the project is completed on schedule.
The stories we tell about the wives of the “orange warriors” are just examples of the sacrifices of women who have helped their husbands complete their assigned tasks well. There are still hundreds of wives who, due to their circumstances, cannot come directly to support the “orange warriors”, but they are always a solid rear, taking care of their families to help their husbands – the “orange warriors” who are devoted to their work. All for the goal of speeding up the progress of the 500kV line 3 project, contributing to ensuring national energy security.
