The movie "Ghost Lamp" inspired by "The Tale of Kieu" will be released on the 10th day of Tet At Ty 2025.
Movie project Ghost lights by director Hoang Nam has just revealed the mysterious setting revolving around the ghost lamp. The film promises to bring a new breeze to the Vietnamese spiritual film genre, while arousing curiosity about the unique folk rituals and beliefs of the Vietnamese people.
The film tells the story of Thuong, a woman whose husband is away at war, raising her son Linh alone. One day, Thuong accidentally picks up a mysterious lamp. This lamp immediately attracts the curiosity of the boy Linh. The spirit lamp becomes a link between the underworld and the living world, bringing fears and mysteries that have never been solved. Can Thuong protect her son from evil ghosts and dangers from the past?
The film is not simply a ghost story but also raises questions about life, death and the existence of the soul.
Director Hoang Nam and the production team wanted to create a film that was not only about spirituality but also had a strong Vietnamese cultural imprint. Ghost lights is a journey of self-discovery, maternal love and traditional national values.
