This is the 8th expert-level workshop organized by Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic Hospital in collaboration with the Vietnam Orthopedic Association and Binh Thuan General Hospital.
On March 1 and 2, the workshop focused on discussing the topic of knee preservation surgery in the treatment of early stage localized knee osteoarthritis. Knee osteoarthritis is one of the common musculoskeletal diseases in the elderly, negatively affecting daily movement, potentially causing complications and reducing the patient's quality of life.

At the workshop, Associate Professor, Doctor Do Phuoc Hung (Head of Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City), Professor Jianlin Wu (Taiwan) and Professor Oliver Guyen (France) presented scientific reports and shared experiences in the field of orthopedics.
With the support of international professors, specialist doctor 2 Tran Dang Khoa and the Lower Limb Department team, Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital successfully performed a single-compartment artificial knee replacement surgery and a tibia axis correction surgery with the support of personalized 3D printing technology.
According to Dr. Chau Van Dinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital, the scientific conference is an opportunity for doctors to study, develop their expertise as well as receive modern techniques from around the world. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment services and health care for the people.
