Mr. Tran Tuan Nghia, Thang Loi Fruit Cooperative, Sa Pa town, said that since 2020, the unit has applied automatic technology in the strawberry growing process.

"After applying the smart automatic irrigation system, the watering time is more accurate, helping plants grow and yield higher yields," said Mr. Nghia.

Previously, agricultural products in Ban Pho commune, Bac Ha district were not known to many people. Through the digital transformation program, valuable agricultural products of the local people such as Ta Van Chu plum blossoms and Hoang Thu Pho ancient tea have become known to many people. From the agricultural sector's data system on land, crops, livestock, aquatic products, environment, weather... people in the production process have gradually learned to apply on digital platforms.

Mr. Ly Seo Senh in Ban Pho 2 village, Ban Pho commune, Bac Ha district, said: "I saw some very interesting things on the internet. If a tree has a disease, there is software that allows you to just take a picture and determine what disease the leaves have, or what tree needs to be fertilized at what time, what month... very interesting."

The digital transformation program of Lao Cai province until 2025, with a vision to 2030, clearly states that agriculture is one of the priority sectors. With the goal of each farmer being a trader, each cooperative being an enterprise applying digital technology in production, supply, distribution, price forecasting, and promoting the development of e-commerce.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hoa, Secretary of the Bac Ha District Party Committee, said that since people have been able to connect to the internet, many households have learned to use social networks to promote agricultural products, thereby increasing their income.

According to Mr. Hoa: "The public telecommunications program has contributed to the digital transformation work in the district. Bac Ha district also identifies digital transformation work as the focus to implement hunger eradication and poverty reduction".

Currently, in Lao Cai, there are 86 enterprises and cooperatives with over 300 product lines with QR-Code, which has helped to make information about the electronic traceability of safe agricultural products transparent. Along with that, the trade promotion support system helps enterprises and farmers consume products, improve the competitiveness and advantages of agricultural products. The effective implementation of the digital transformation program is one of the solutions that contributes to improving efficiency, creating breakthroughs for rapid and sustainable development, and increasing the added value of agricultural products.

To further improve the effectiveness of digital transformation in the agricultural sector, Mr. Le Tan Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lao Cai province, said: "For the agricultural sector in general, it is facing difficulties due to the lack of an overall architecture, so it is necessary to build a platform from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to the commune level, so that technology has a comprehensive integration. Currently, we are waiting for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to issue, but at the same time, we are still consulting and implementing to determine what is the basic foundation to do first. Other issues will be added after the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issues the document".

It must be affirmed that digital transformation has brought positive results not only in the quality and productivity of agricultural products in Lao Cai province but also in improving management methods and business methods in the agricultural sector. This is the foundation for Lao Cai to develop smart high-tech agriculture, contributing to increasing the proportion of agriculture in local economic development.
