Art program "Memories left behind".
The days of April come, the border area of Tay Ninh is covered with golden sunshine. The rows of royal poinciana trees bloom with red flowers of the season of love. April is peaceful in the cheers of the song of the changing seasons of the earth and sky. Suddenly, my heart is calmed by the melodious melody of the song " Returning to Tay Ninh, the old base, the green forest. Returning to Go Dau land, here in Dong Vam Co. Ask the river, does the river still remember? In the fire and bullets of the past, which boat took the cadres across the river ...".
The art program "Memories Left Behind" is held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security tradition day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
On the evening of April 19, like many other Tay Ninh people, I eagerly went to the Memorial Square of Heroes and Martyrs of Tay Ninh Province. Immersed in the warm and sacred atmosphere of the crowd, I came to the art program "Memories Left Behind" to understand and love more the years when my homeland was immersed in the smoke and fire of bullets and bombs, to respectfully bow my head before the people who carved their lives into the sacred soul of the mountains and rivers.
The art program “Memories Left Behind” gradually reveals the story of security officer To Quyen (alias To Lam). The son of Xuan Cau village (Van Giang, Hung Yen) followed the call of the Fatherland, following the assignment of the Party, to fight on the fierce Tay Ninh battlefield.
"The place he came to was hot Tay Ninh land.
He will love it as his own homeland…”
Tay Ninh is home, is his beloved flesh and blood. He began to "build a movement, build a team" . Under the "small lamp" , in the "dim cellar" , "professional documents to guide the brothers" were born.
He lived with the people, worried about their worries, and ate sweet potatoes and cassava with them. The relationship between the army and the people was warm and deep. He put aside his personal concerns, and wholeheartedly loved the windy and sunny borderland.
"People call him uncle Tu To Lam.
People love the cassava and sweet potato.
Ao ba ba has been through many rainy and sunny seasons
The bullet wound on the Ao Ba Ba shirt has not been sewn up yet…”.
For that security soldier, rain, sun, bullets and bombs are nothing, because there is no love greater than the love of the Fatherland, there is no aspiration greater than the aspiration for peace, for North and South to reunite as one family. And his determination is like iron, like an iron oath.
"He stuck to the ground and fought back with his brothers.
Even if it costs me life, I will keep this land…
He stuck with the people and directly held a gun: "Losing Go Dau means losing Tay Ninh"
The image of security officer To Quyen became a shining symbol of those security guard
The audience seemed to calm down and burst into emotions. Troops from the North crossed Truong Son to the South, fighting side by side with the people of the South in the fierce war. The determination to chase the enemy was boiling, ready to sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
The program recreates the unforgettable days - the fierce land of fire in Tay Ninh during the Junction City operation conducted by the US imperialists and the Saigon puppet army to attack the North Tay Ninh base area in the dry season of 1967.
This is the land of brutal war
Where the dry season of 1967 passed (1967)
The enemy launched an unprecedented campaign.
They named him Gian-xôn X-ti.”
At that time, the US Command was very interested in the North Tay Ninh base area. The US constantly propagated calling this North Tay Ninh war zone the "holy land of the Viet Cong" with the "White House" and the "Pentagon", meaning the headquarters of the Central Bureau, the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, the Military Commission and the Command of the Liberation Army of South Vietnam.
Therefore:
“ The Expeditionary Army and the Saigon Army
Marching loudly to Lo Go - Xa Mat
Armies, tanks, armored vehicles
Helicopters blacken the sky
They want to turn the war zone into ashes.
Determined to destroy our forces…
The footprints of the enemy trampled
"Desolation of Cu Chi, Ben Suc, Trang Bang" .
I love Tay Ninh so much! I love my country so much. The peaceful and prosperous land of Tay Ninh. with the lush primeval forests suddenly becoming desolate, depleted of life. The forest no longer had the sound of birds, the trees were covered in gunpowder. The brutal enemy was bloodthirsty, trying to destroy Tay Ninh at all costs.
" We know Tay Ninh has R- Central Bureau
Special Forces Intelligence, Police
Puppet soldiers covered every inch of Tay Ninh land.
They hunted down and massacred
Then they spread poison all over the forest.
The leaves of the forest still have blood stains.
The Tay Ninh battlefield was immersed in the smoke and fire of bullets and bombs for decades. The blood and bones of countless people soaked into the motherland. Many hearts sacrificed themselves. The mass of hatred mixed with the cries, the pain of losing one's home and country turned into a steadfast strength, into a bright flame of struggle, determined to keep every inch of land and treetop.
Love turns into an unparalleled power. The army and people of Tay Ninh fought with utmost courage and resilience to protect their homeland, to protect the Central Bureau - to protect the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam. Nowhere is as fierce as this place, and no place is as rich in heroic stories as this land... The names of hamlets and villages have become history.
The campaign took place in conditions of a clear difference in force in favor of the US, but the Liberation Army of South Vietnam won a complete victory. The US ended Operation Gianxôn Xity.
General Nguyen Chi Thanh once commented: "Operation Gianxôn Xity was the largest operation of the US army into the North Tay Ninh base area, but it was also the most painful defeat, marking the peak of their failure in the second dry season strategic counterattack in their plot to find and destroy" . That achievement was also a strong affirmation. fighting spirit, heroic tradition of our nation, especially the steel spirit of security soldiers.
The program ended with the image of the fiery land of Tay Ninh today, which has changed dramatically. The vast forests of the North Tay Ninh base area that were once dry and yellow, broken by bombs and toxic chemicals, are now green.
Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park, Chang Riec Historical Cultural Forest, Dau Tieng Lake upstream protection forest and endless rubber, cassava and sugarcane forests in a green area. A fresh spring has appeared in the sky and land of Tay Ninh.
The war has receded into the past 50 years. The art program “Memories Left Behind” has carved the heroic epic of our army and people in the journey to protect the Fatherland. Recalling the past helps us understand more, love more, and be more proud of the heroic fighting tradition of our army and people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the cause of national liberation and reunification.
We, the children of Tay Ninh today, would like to light a stick of incense and bow our heads in gratitude to those who made history and lived a life dedicated to the Fatherland like a fragrant flower in the midst of life.
