Ms. Be Thi Van, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Lang District: Van Lang mountainous border district has 17 administrative units (16 communes and 1 town); of which 5 border communes are adjacent to Bang Tuong Town, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The district has 8 communes and 1 town in Region I; 8 communes in Region III; 161 villages, neighborhoods and 54 extremely disadvantaged villages. The total population of the district is over 50,000 people, with 4 main ethnic groups: Tay, Nung, Kinh, Hoa and a few other ethnic groups living together. According to the preliminary results of the survey of poor and near-poor households in 2024: 616 poor households, accounting for 4.53%, down 3% compared to 2023; 1,278 near-poor households, accounting for 9.39%.

Ms. Be Thi Van, Vice Chairman of Van Lang District People's Committee: In the period of 2021 - 2024, the central budget allocates career capital for the Program, which is 19 billion 074 million VND (of which 2022 is 3 billion 878 million VND; 2023 is 8 billion 758 million VND; 2024 is 6 billion 438 million VND). Capital mobilized from preferential credit loans, with 4,729 poor households, near-poor households, and households escaping poverty borrowing capital, the loan capital is 303 billion 854 million VND.
From the above capital, Van Lang district implemented 5 projects, including: Project 2 on Diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models; Project 3 on Supporting production development, improving nutrition; Project 4 on Developing vocational education, sustainable employment; Project 6 on Communication and information poverty reduction; Project 7 on Capacity building and monitoring and evaluating the Program.
The results of the Program implementation ensure multidimensional, inclusive, sustainable poverty reduction, limit poverty relapse and poverty generation; support the poor and poor households to overcome the minimum living standard, access basic social services according to the national multidimensional poverty standard, improve the quality of life.
