Nhat Viet Securities JSC (code VFS) was established in 2008 with an initial charter capital of VND 135 billion. As of the end of the second quarter of 2023, the company had a charter capital of VND 802.5 billion and is planning to ask the State Securities Commission to increase its capital to VND 2,400 billion in 2023 and the first half of 2024.
VFS shares have also been listed on the HNX with 80.25 million shares. At the trading session on August 16, 2023, VFS is priced at VND 27,000/share, an increase of about 27.4% compared to the time when it was first listed.
As soon as VFS shares increased in price, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Nhat Viet Securities - Mr. Tran Anh Thang registered to buy 7 million shares.
The transaction is expected to take place from August 16, 2023 to August 21, 2023 by negotiation or order matching. Before the transaction, Mr. Thang held 8.631 million VFS shares, equivalent to 10.73%. If the transaction is successful, Mr. Thang will own 15.631 million VFS shares, equivalent to 19.46% of charter capital.
Regarding business results in the first two quarters of 2023, VFS Securities recorded revenue of VND 134.8 billion from securities trading activities, an increase of 49.6% over the same period last year. However, revenue in the second quarter alone decreased by nearly half compared to the same period.
Profit after tax in the first half of the year reached VND43.7 billion, up 23.1% compared to the first half of 2022, with the peak profit concentrated in the second quarter. The reason is that financial revenue in the second quarter reached VND20 billion, 4 times higher than the same period.
By the end of the second quarter, VFS's total assets reached VND1,055.2 billion, a slight increase compared to the beginning of the year. Most of which was recorded as equity with VND1,031.5 billion. The company's undistributed profit after tax is at VND226.6 billion.
