Prepare carefully for the questioning session of the National Assembly Standing Committee

The question and answer session is expected to be held for 1.5 days (from August 21 to the morning of August 22), focusing on the positive aspects, shortcomings, and limitations in the implementation of the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of 2023.

According to the program, the questioning content focuses on two groups of fields. The first group of fields includes: Agriculture and rural development; Industry and Trade; Culture, Sports and Tourism. The second group of fields includes: Justice; Internal Affairs; Security, order and social safety; Inspection; Court; Procuracy.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated: This is the first time in the term of the 15th National Assembly that the National Assembly Standing Committee has reviewed and questioned the implementation of agencies' resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, questioning and answering questions is always a supervisory activity that voters, people, National Assembly deputies and the press are interested in and follow. At the 6th Session, the 15th National Assembly questioned members of the Government and heads of sectors on the implementation of resolutions of the 14th National Assembly and from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly's term to the end of the 4th Session on thematic supervision and questioning. The questioning sessions at the 6th Session took place enthusiastically, achieving the requirements and content set out.

The National Assembly Chairman requested the chair to conduct the question-and-answer sessions in a way that does not allocate specific answering time for each minister and sector head to reduce pressure on the questioners and ensure that each issue raised by the delegates is closely followed. National Assembly delegates should focus on asking questions within the scope of the field chosen for this question-and-answer session, ensuring the right focus, key points, and time as prescribed, asking no more than one minute and asking only one issue.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that through the question and answer sessions, voters and people will evaluate the capacity of Government members, ministers, and heads of sectors.

The National Assembly Chairman requested the Secretary General of the National Assembly and the Office of the National Assembly to continue to complete the documents and prepare a draft resolution for questioning at the meeting. Ministers and heads of sectors must report on the missing contents pointed out by the Secretary General of the National Assembly to provide to National Assembly deputies no later than August 16, 2024.
