The Prime Minister has just issued decisions to appoint the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
Mr. Pham Quang Dung was appointed Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.
In Decision 1669/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Pham Quang Dung, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietcombank , to hold the position of Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam. The decision takes effect from January 1, 2024.
Mr. Pham Quang Dung was elected Chairman of Vietcombank for the 2018-2023 term from August 2021 after Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh was assigned and transferred by the Politburo to become Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee.
Previously, Mr. Pham Quang Dung was a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietcombank since November 2014.
Mr. Pham Quang Dung (50 years old), from Dinh Tan commune, Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa. He studied at Hanoi National Economics University, has a master's degree in banking and finance from Birmingham University (UK), and has 30 years of experience working in the field of finance and banking.

In Decision 1666/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister reappointed Mr. Tran Tuan Anh to the position of Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The re-appointment term is 5 years, starting from January 11, 2024.
In Decision 1168/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Le Manh Hung, General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. The term of appointment is 5 years, the decision takes effect from January 1, 2024.
