The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by First Vice President of the Thai House of Representatives Padipat Suntiphada, Governor of Udon Thani Province Wanchai Kongkasame and a large number of overseas Vietnamese and local people. The delegation visited the exhibition area, which includes important historical documents on the life and revolutionary career of Ho Chi Minh, who devoted his whole life to the nation for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress. On this occasion, the delegates and a large number of people of the two countries reviewed the great and profound thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh, which are still relevant today, embodying the aspirations of peoples to affirm their cultural identity and to enhance mutual understanding. The National Assembly Chairman expressed his appreciation for the precious sentiments of Thai expatriates, including those in Udon Thani province, for President Ho Chi Minh. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sincerely thanked the government and people of Udon Thani province for supporting, preserving and promoting this important relic site, one of the symbolic works of friendship between the people of the two countries. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, the Governor of Udon Thani emphasized that over the years, the relic site has received increasing attention from local people, attracting a large number of overseas Vietnamese and international tourists to commemorate the beloved Father of the Vietnamese people, a world cultural celebrity, a symbol of the friendly and cooperative relationship between the people of the two countries. The government and people of Udon Thani province pledged to actively coordinate in the construction process to achieve the best results. The National Assembly Chairman expressed his delight that in recent times, the Relic Site has regularly welcomed many delegations of overseas Vietnamese as well as Thai friends and international guests to visit and learn about the life and great career of President Ho Chi Minh, thereby promoting the role of a cultural and historical work of great significance in the spiritual life of the Vietnamese community in Thailand, a vivid symbol of the good friendship between the two countries, contributing to further deepening the cooperative relationship, exchange and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the groundbreaking ceremony of the Relic Site expansion project today is a vivid demonstration of the aspirations of our overseas Vietnamese in Thailand in particular, and around the world in general, in building, preserving and developing works honoring President Ho Chi Minh, a world cultural celebrity. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the efforts and determination of the Management Board of the Relic Site, the Vietnamese Association of Udon Thani Province as well as the Vietnamese community in Thailand for their great efforts and efforts to have today's groundbreaking ceremony, a very important first step for the Relic Site to soon complete its expansion and put into operation, continuing to promote the meaningful role of the Relic Site in the coming time. According to the National Assembly Chairman, this will be a place to preserve valuable information and documents about beloved Uncle Ho so that generations of overseas Vietnamese and international friends can learn about his life, career and commemorate his great contributions; a cultural, educational and community meeting space; a destination that attracts local people and tourists to visit, contributing to promoting the historical traditions and cultural identity of the Vietnamese people. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sincerely thanked the Governor and Thai authorities for their attention and favorable conditions for the construction and expansion of the relic site; and organizations, individuals and businesses that have joined hands to support the Vietnamese community in Udon Thani in preserving, conserving and promoting the role of the relic site. The National Assembly Chairman also said that domestic agencies will coordinate with representative agencies in Thailand to fully support and guide people in the maintenance, conservation and development of the relic site; believing that people will manage, exploit and promote the special value of the relic site. At the ceremony, on behalf of the delegation, the National Assembly Chairman presented the relic site with 50 thousand USD to support the construction and expansion of the relic site. This morning's activities conclude the working program of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the delegation during their official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand from December 7 to December 10, 2023.
