This afternoon, December 2, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Khuon Sudary and a high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia left Hanoi, successfully concluding an official visit to Vietnam from November 30 to December 2, 2023, at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
Seeing off the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha; Standing Member of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Tran Thi Hong An.
During his official visit to Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary paid a courtesy call to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; greeted President Vo Van Thuong; attended the official welcoming ceremony and held talks with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; and visited and worked in Ha Nam province.

This is Samdech Khuon Sudary's first foreign visit as President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia right after Cambodia held the 7th National Assembly election and completed the new leadership apparatus in August 2023.
The official visit to Vietnam by National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary is an important political and diplomatic activity between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Cambodian National Assembly; it is of profound significance, taking place in the context of positive developments in the relationship between the two countries. This is a new milestone contributing to consolidating and developing the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation between the two countries in general and between the two National Assemblies in particular.
During the official visit to Vietnam by the President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the leaders of the two sides agreed that the solidarity, friendship and bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia have been strengthened and developed strongly in recent times. The relationship between the two Parties and the two countries has been constantly strengthened, developed extensively and achieved many important achievements, the content and methods of cooperation continue to be innovated and become effective. The trusted political relationship has been maintained, serving as the core orientation for the cooperation between the two countries. Defense and security cooperation has continued to be promoted, increasingly close and effective, and is an important pillar in the relationship between the two countries, contributing to maintaining political and social stability and development in each country.
Economic, cultural, social and scientific and technological cooperation has developed very positively, with bilateral trade turnover reaching a record, reaching 10 billion USD in 2022. Cooperation between agencies, Fronts, unions, people's organizations and localities continues to be maintained and there are innovations in cooperation methods. On the basis of good relations, both sides need to do a good job of propaganda so that the young generations of the two countries can better understand and appreciate the value of the close friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
The two sides agreed that each country's success is contributed by the very close cooperation between the two countries. Generations of senior leaders of the two countries need to continue to attach importance to maintaining the tradition of friendly cooperation and mutual trust in order to achieve common goals, and to effectively implement the motto of "good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability". Vietnam has always been a good and trustworthy friend of Cambodia. In the most difficult times, despite many changes in the world situation, the two Parties and two countries have always stood shoulder to shoulder, side by side.
The two sides wish to promote cooperation in education and training, people-to-people exchange; transportation; tourism; cooperation in good management of border security, safety, and crime prevention; continue to accelerate the progress of demarcation and marker planting of the remaining 16% of the border; increase consultation and support each other's stance at multilateral international forums...
Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the two leaders agreed to continue close cooperation in building and perfecting institutions and legal systems to maintain political stability, ensure national defense and security, develop socio-economy and enhance the international position of each country as well as preserve and foster the increasingly developing Vietnam-Cambodia relationship.
The two sides agreed to maintain high-level and all-level contacts between the National Assembly Committees, the Young Parliamentarians' Group, the Women's Parliamentarians' Group, and the Friendship Parliamentarians' Group of the two countries to exchange professional experience in the field of legislation, supervision and decision-making on important issues of the country; promote the role of the legislative bodies of the two countries in promoting bilateral relations; supervise ministries, branches, localities, and enterprises to actively and effectively implement signed Treaties, Agreements, and Agreements; enhance information exchange and share experience in effectively organizing the activities of the National Assembly.
At the same time, the two sides maintained the mechanism of the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) National Assembly Summit; continued to promote coordination mechanisms at multilateral forums such as the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) and other multilateral parliamentary organizations...
