President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan met with senior leaders of the German Football Federation. At this meeting, President of the German Football Federation Bernd Neuendorf said that he was impressed with the progress of the Vietnamese women's team. Mr. Bernd Neuendorf wished coach Mai Duc Chung and his team good results at the 2023 Women's World Cup.
Recently, the Vietnamese women's team had a long-term training session in Germany. The Vietnamese women's team participated in a useful friendly match to improve their skills. In particular, the Vietnamese team had the opportunity to compete with the German team, ranked second in the FIFA rankings, on June 24. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team had an impressive performance and only lost with a score of 1-2.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan presented a souvenir shirt and flag to President of the German Football Federation Bernd Neuendorf.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan thanked Mr. Bernd Neuendorf and the German Football Federation for supporting and creating the most favorable conditions for the Vietnamese women's team during their training in Germany, including organizing a friendly match between the two national teams.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also thanked the German Football Federation for its attention to Vietnamese football, through football exchange programs at the club and national team levels. For example, the match between the Vietnamese women's team and Eintracht Frankfurt or Dortmund's tour in Vietnam. Currently, the German Football Federation also creates opportunities for young Vietnamese talents to go to Germany to train and compete to improve their skills.
The Football Federations of the two countries agreed to further promote cooperation in a number of football fields such as youth training, women's football, coach training, sports medicine, training trips for national teams, etc.
The German Football Association, the Netherlands and Belgium are trying to win the right to co-host the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan believes that with its experience in organizing and modern facilities, Germany fully meets the standards to host the world's biggest tournament for women's football.
