Accordingly, on June 30, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports issued a document approving the organization of the art program "Blackpink World Tour 2023" at My Dinh National Stadium on the evenings of July 29 and 30.
According to Ms. Ha, the Blackpink band's performance on the evening of July 29 had about 36,000 spectators and on July 30 had about 31,000 spectators.
Previously, many people expressed concern because there was information that the authorities would cancel two shows of this band related to ticket sales.
On the afternoon of July 20, IME Vietnam (the show organizer) announced that the two BlackPink concerts in Hanoi will take place on a similar scale to other concerts around the world, in order to appease public opinion about the much smaller song list compared to concerts in other countries.
Before being involved in rumors of the show being canceled, the organizer also made public opinion angry about the suspicion of "supporting the nine-dash line".
On the afternoon of July 6, the company organizing the Blackpink concert in Hanoi issued a press release, expressing its most sincere apology for the unfortunate misunderstanding surrounding the suspicion of supporting the illegal nine-dash line. Although there was a response, the majority of the online community said that we need to wait for the Vietnamese management agency to speak up to clearly determine whether the company organizing the Blackpink concert supports the illegal nine-dash line or not.
After the ticket prices and a list of 13 songs said to be by the group spread online, many people said that the ticket prices for the concert were too high, the lowest being 1.2 million VND and the highest being 9.8 million VND, while the group performed too little, with no additional benefits for the audience.
Immediately after that, Blackpink's management company spoke up, saying that the list of 13 songs from the concert in Hanoi that spread online was incorrect. The group still performed like they did in other countries.
The controversy over ticket prices, suspicions that the organizers support the nine-dash line, and the song list… all made a part of the public angry. Many people called for a boycott of this band’s performance.
