New Zealand government opens 'hunting' festival for dozens of scholarships worth hundreds of millions of dong

Education New Zealand (ENZ) in collaboration with the New Zealand Embassy and Consulate General organized the New Zealand Education Fair 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City (October 19) and Hanoi (October 20). This is the largest event of the year on New Zealand education, bringing together 41 educational institutions at different levels, successful alumni in many fields and officers specializing in secondary school scholarships (NZSS) and postgraduate (Manaaki).

Notably, many leading New Zealand universities will offer valuable scholarship packages, such as Waikato University (up to NZD 114,000), Massey University (up to NZD 90,000), Otago University (up to 100% tuition fee with allowance), Canterbury University (up to NZD 19,000) and Auckland University (up to NZD 10,000). In addition, many universities also have many exclusive scholarships at the fair, such as Lincoln University, Northcote College, Lynfield College, Kiwi College of New Zealand...

To answer questions about student visas and work rights for international students in New Zealand, the event also organized a separate seminar on this issue presented by Immigration New Zealand (INZ) officers. This is also the only time of the year that INZ has a direct exchange with Vietnamese parents and students, especially about the latest changes in work rights for relatives and student visa fees.

Ms. Caroline Beresford, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam, commented that this island nation has become an ideal study abroad destination for many international students thanks to its learner-centered philosophy, while building skills to prepare learners to enter the global labor market.

Information about New Zealand Education Fair

The New Zealand Education Fair 2024 is completely free. Here, ENZ also launched the book Coming to New Zealand to welcome the new dawn - a book project about New Zealand implemented by ENZ for the first time, bringing together 50 stories from experts, famous people and international students to provide a panoramic view of the country, culture and people of New Zealand.

In 2023, New Zealand welcomed 69,135 international students, an increase of 67% compared to 2022, with international student satisfaction reaching 86%, the highest ever. According to the 2024-2027 international education development plan approved in August 2024, Vietnam is considered the most potential market in Southeast Asia and is being promoted by New Zealand through many important education initiatives.
