Goalkeeper Filip Nguyen joins Hanoi Police Club, ready to compete in the second phase of V-League 2023.
On the evening of June 28, Hanoi Police Club officially announced the successful recruitment of goalkeeper Filip Nguyen. The player born in 1992 joined the V-League representative from the Slovako Club (Czech Republic), and is considered one of the most classy overseas Vietnamese players with extensive experience in Europe.
Filip Nguyen is expected to sign a 3-year contract with the Hanoi Police Club and will be registered as an overseas Vietnamese player. Playing in the V-League is a stepping stone for the 31-year-old goalkeeper to soon obtain Vietnamese citizenship and hopefully be called up to the national team.

Goalkeeper Filip Nguyen will arrive in Hanoi at 1 p.m. today, June 29, to complete the contract signing and debut procedures. Filip Nguyen is the second new player of the Hanoi Police Club in the mid-season transfer period, after midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai. Currently, the team led by Mr. Flavio Cruz has 4 goalkeepers, including Filip Nguyen, Patrik Le Giang, Do Sy Huy and Bui Tien Dung. The competition in the goal of the Hanoi Police team is expected to be fierce.
Filip Nguyen's father is Vietnamese and his mother is Czech. He grew up at Sparta Prague's youth academy, playing for the club's first team before moving to Bydzov, Vlasim, Slova Liberec and Slovacko. Before moving to Hanoi Police Club, Filip Nguyen had a successful 2022-2023 season. Slovacko Club went through 35 rounds and finished 5th in Fortuna Liga. Goalkeeper Filip Nguyen was one of the key factors helping the Czech team achieve this achievement.
Not only is he excellent in the Slovacko club's squad, the goalkeeper with Vietnamese-Czech blood is also the most outstanding "goalkeeper" of the tournament. In the 5 most important parameters of a goalkeeper, Filip Nguyen leads in 4 parameters, including: minutes played, number of clean sheets, consecutive minutes of clean sheets and number of passes.
Accordingly, Filip Nguyen is the player with the highest number of minutes played in Slovacko Club and Fortuna Liga. He played 34 matches, standing in goal for a total of 3,047 minutes, playing an average of more than 89 minutes/match. In particular, Filip Nguyen is also the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the Czech Republic tournament with 11 matches without conceding a goal.

The goalkeeper born in 1992 is the player who kept a clean sheet for the longest time with 434 minutes without conceding a goal. The 31-year-old "goalkeeper" also showed impressive footwork and had good connection with his teammates on the front line when making a total of 1,241 passes, the most in the tournament (compared to other goalkeepers). In addition, Filip Nguyen also made 101 saves for Slovacko Club, ranking 4th in the tournament.
At the beginning of the 2023 season, the goalkeeper with Vietnamese-Czech blood was very close to the V-League. With the ambition to compete for a high position in the 2023 V-League, the Hanoi Police Club has invested heavily in the squad by recruiting many quality players. Among them, Filip Nguyen is considered the most prominent name in the "blood change" strategy of the rookie V-League team.
Hanoi Police Club even put his name on the registration list for the 2023 season and this list was made public on the tournament organizer's homepage. Hanoi Police Club is said to be willing to spend a "huge" amount to buy back the contract, with an amount of up to 800,000 USD. However, the parties involved have not found a common voice so that Filip Nguyen can return to Vietnam to play for the rookie team of V-League. Slovacko Club did not agree to release the player because they have not found a worthy replacement goalkeeper for Filip Nguyen.
The Hanoi Police team has just successfully recruited Quang Hai. This team owns many stars and is considered the "galaxy" of Vietnamese football.
