(Dan Tri) - To meet the demand for the 2024 Lunar New Year, Bat Trang pottery workshops have created many products with unique dragon images. In particular, among them is a unique product inspired by the "Hoang De Chi Bao" gold seal.
As scheduled, every time the Lunar New Year approaches, ceramic businesses launch unique products with the mascots of that year's zodiac animals. Among them, a ceramic business in Bat Trang (Gia Lam, Hanoi ) has created a gift model with the image of a dragon for the year of the Dragon 2024 called "Sacred Dragon Imprint". These days, Mr. Pham Viet Khoa and his fellow potters are busy completing products with the dragon mascot symbol according to orders from a business to serve consumer needs.
Mr. Khoa was born and raised in Bat Trang, and has been involved in the ceramic industry for nearly 40 years. To ensure enough orders for products for the 2024 Lunar New Year, Mr. Khoa's workshop has 4 employees, many times having to work overtime from morning to night. According to Mr. Khoa, shaping from clay is a very important step, how to create a product with the correct shape according to the model, the dragon has Vietnamese elements and is not mistaken for another country. After completing the clay shaping, dragon ceramic products will be glazed and fired. After the product leaves the kiln, it will go to the most awaited stage: gold painting. The craftsman will use liquid gold to draw each line on the dragon product, then continue to bake for another 6 to 8 hours to achieve a prominent, luxurious look. Mr. Mac Trieu Duong, a craftsman with 4 years of experience in painting ceramic products, said that to complete a painting of the Giap Thin 2024 dragon mascot product, it takes him about 2.5 hours on average, and he can paint up to 5 products a day. The most difficult part is painting the hidden details, deep behind the small, narrow gaps on the product. The finished painting product achieves an even gold shine, no burn marks, the strokes must be continuous and uninterrupted. Mr. Nguyen Van Luc, the unit that came up with the idea and ordered the artisans to make the Giap Thin ky linh product, shared that the product was inspired by the golden seal "Hoang De Chi Bao" - a priceless treasure of Vietnam - and the shape was inspired by the dragon of the Le Dynasty currently residing at Dien Kinh Thien - Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The three sides of the seal are carved with the three words An - Thuan - Phat symbolizing peace, convenience and development, the remaining side is the image of a carp transforming into a dragon. The base is not crafted or painted. The prices of the products are offered from 6-9 million VND depending on the version and color.
