On November 30, Quang Ngai Provincial Police announced that they had executed an emergency search warrant and temporarily detained the suspect to investigate the act of Fraudulent appropriation of property against Nguyen Tuan Cuong (38 years old, Deputy Director of Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB) Quang Ngai) and his wife Nguyen Thi Bich Khue.

According to the investigation, taking advantage of his position as deputy director of VIB Quang Ngai, Cuong lied to relatives and friends that he needed money to pay off bank debts and trade land.
Cuong and his wife asked the above people to lend them money. When the loan is completed and the land is sold, the principal and interest will be paid back.
Many people borrowed money and transferred it to Cuong and his wife. The two subjects appropriated the money and used it to pay off the debts of those who had borrowed it before.
With the above deceitful tricks, Cuong and his wife cheated 13 people and appropriated over 61 billion VND.
Quang Ngai Provincial Police are expanding the investigation into the case and requesting those who were deceived by Cuong and are related to the case to contact the Criminal Police Department for coordination in resolving the case.
