Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City Nguyen Thi Hoai An said that India is one of the 10 countries with the largest number of international searches for Vietnam tourism from the beginning of 2022 to present.
In Da Nang city, the number of Indian tourists to the city has grown strongly in recent years. In the first 9 months of 2024, the city welcomed 151,876 visitors, accounting for 43% of the total number of Indian visitors to Vietnam, an increase of 125% over the same period in 2023.
Da Nang is an increasingly popular destination, attracting Indian tourists with many diverse types of tourism, including MICE tourism, weddings, beach resorts, cultural tourism, golf tourism, etc.
According to Ms. An, to promote the attraction of the Indian market, Da Nang city has focused on implementing many promotional and communication activities by participating in the Satte Fair program in India in February 2024, organizing to welcome famtrip and presstrip delegations to Da Nang to survey tourism products and services, supporting Indian film crews to film in Da Nang, connecting and working with airlines to open direct flights from India to Da Nang....
With these efforts, the number of Indian visitors to Da Nang has grown strongly, especially from the end of October 2024, Vietjet Air is expected to operate the Da Nang - Ahmedabad route with a frequency of 02 flights/week.
"We believe that after the seminar, travel agencies and tour guides will have more specific information to exploit and effectively serve the Indian tourist market, in order to bring satisfaction and attract more and more Indian tourists to Da Nang city," Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An shared.
It is expected that in October 2024, the Department of Tourism will coordinate with other units to welcome a press trip with more than 20 Indian journalists to Da Nang for experience.
At the seminar, experts and delegates focused on exchanging and discussing the psychology and skills of serving the Indian tourist market, especially the skills of guiding and arranging tour programs for tour guides and international travel companies. Previously, on September 13, the Department of Tourism also organized this program for tourist accommodation establishments in the city.

Da Nang Department of Tourism has worked with Vietjet Air to promote promotional products on all media channels for Indian visitors to access. It is expected that in October 2024, the Department of Tourism will coordinate with other units to welcome a press trip with more than 20 Indian journalists to Da Nang to experience.
Through organizing training programs and developing product packages to attract Indian visitors, Da Nang hopes to welcome and serve more Indian visitors in the coming time, contributing to the diversification of international visitors to Da Nang city.
