Russian "Iskander" missiles are heavily attacking railways and bridges, which are important enemy logistics routes between different regions. Recently, the only bridge serving the transportation of weapons through Romania and Moldova was destroyed (according to some other sources, the bridge was severely damaged).

Russian army advances like a storm, Ukrainian commander flees

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta (RG), the Russian army has advanced to Kupyansk, only 1.5km from the outskirts of the city.

Earlier, on January 6, Ukrainian forces near Kupyansk fell into a "massive trap" by Russia without knowing it, causing them to lose control of 23 bases in just 24 hours.

Russian State Duma deputy Viktor Vodolatsky said that unit commanders and many Ukrainian officials have withdrawn from Kupyansk. Most of the remaining people in the city are Western mercenaries.

RIA Novosti news agency quoted Mr. Vitaly Ganchev - the head of Kharkiv appointed by Russia - as saying that Russian forces have controlled the logistical routes of Ukrainian forces, thereby maintaining the initiative in military operations.

According to the Kharkiv Times (Ukraine), Ukrainian police and the state emergency services are urgently evacuating civilians from the city of Kupyansk and the Kurilovsk settlement in the Kupyansk district. To date, 8,000 residents have been evacuated from settlements in the direction of Kupyansk.

Mil.in.ua quoted a statement from the Hostri Kartuzy unit of the Ukrainian National Guard saying that the unit recently stopped a Russian armored advance near the city of Selydove.

“ The enemy armored group, consisting of two tanks and two armored vehicles, attempted to expand the bridgehead around the city of Selydove. However, the Ukrainian soldiers fought well despite difficult conditions ,” the statement said.

The Hostri Kartuzy unit later released several photos of the Russian armored group being neutralized near Selydove. The Russian armed forces have not yet commented on the photos and statements cited by Mil.in.ua.
