SUP and dining on Tri An hydroelectric lake during flood season

Over the past few months, the water level of Tri An hydroelectric lake ( Dong Nai ) has been over 52m high. On this occasion, many groups of young tourists have chosen this place as a place to paddle SUP and swim.

Covering 323 square kilometers, Tri An Lake is an artificial lake formed from the Tri An Hydroelectric Project, with the role of storing water and supplying water for hydroelectric operations. The lake is located in 4 districts of Dong Nai: Vinh Cuu, Trang Bom, Dinh Quan and Thong Nhat. For many years, this has been a regular destination for tourists who enjoy boating and exploring the landscape.

The lake water is quite calm, with a beautiful moss green color.

However, according to many tourists, these are the months when Tri An Lake is quite deserted because tourists are afraid to experience swimming on the deep water surface of the lake, and some are worried about safety.

In addition, visitors to Tri An Lake this season will not see the gardens, lawns, vegetation and typical habitats because they have been flooded.

Having a hobby of SUP, Kim Thoa and a group of friends from Ho Chi Minh City came to the lake to have fun on the weekend. Here, the young people rented a sub for 100,000 VND/2 people to experience a trip on the lake.

"Paddling sup on a deep lake is quite an interesting experience for those who know how to swim. However, to ensure safety, we all wear life jackets and prepare our physical strength to swim in the water," Quynh Anh said.

Many areas are safe enough for groups of young people to play and swim in the water.

"After SUP and swimming, we stopped by the lake to camp and enjoy some rustic grilled dishes. This feeling was really interesting," said Kim Thoa.

Enjoying a home-cooked meal on the shore after hours of swimming is a great treat for many visitors.

"Experiencing the Tri An hydroelectric lake habitat is an interesting activity, helping me reduce stress after days of studying and working. Here, everyone feels like they are immersed in nature with the lake, green trees, fresh and cool climate," said Kim Thoa.

Tri An Hydroelectric Lake is full of water (deep water) due to the heavy rainfall this season. The habitat around the lake has changed a lot compared to the peak tourist months when the water recedes.
