Tractor trailer fire on Highway 1A, driver opens door to escape

(Dan Tri) - A tractor trailer traveling from North to South caught fire in Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province.

At about 1:20 a.m. on December 27, on National Highway 1A through Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province, a tractor trailer fire occurred.

At that time, driver Nguyen Xuan Khanh, 49 years old, Dong Nai province, was driving a tractor with license plate 65C-100.xx pulling a semi-trailer, traveling on National Highway 1A in the North-South direction.

When the car reached Duc Nhuan commune, Mo Duc district, it caught fire. The driver opened the door to escape.

Despite the rain, the fire raged on. The driver tried to put out the fire and save the vehicle but failed. After an hour, the tractor trailer was completely burned.

The fire caused traffic congestion on Highway 1A. Traffic police had to direct and regulate traffic for many hours.

Initially, authorities determined that the tractor's electrical system may have short-circuited and caused the fire.
