At around 1:30 p.m. on August 18, residents living in Bac Cau Street (Ngoc Thuy Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi) discovered thick black smoke coming from a 2-story house deep in alley 220. Many people shouted and reported the fire to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force.
At the scene, black smoke and fire billowed, and from afar one could see a column of thick black smoke rising tens of meters high.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Long Bien District Police dispatched 3 fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.
By 2:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police continued to spray water to cool it down.
Initial determination is that the fire did not cause any human casualties, property damage is being assessed.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Long Bien District Police.
