Apartment fire in Hanoi suspected to be caused by using air fryer on balcony

According to initial information, at around 8:32 p.m. on October 1, a fire broke out at The Emerald apartment building - My Dinh 1 New Urban Area (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi).

Witnesses said that at that time, they discovered a fire breaking out from the balcony of the 6th floor of the CT8 building in the urban area. The fire quickly grew and created a column of black smoke, causing panic among many people below.

As soon as the incident was discovered, the Fire Fighting Team quickly contained the fire and took initial fire fighting measures.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Nam Tu Liem District Police mobilized officers, soldiers and vehicles to the scene.

After about 20 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished. During the fire fighting process, a building employee suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the medical center for a health check.

Fire Police determined that the fire area was about 2.5 square meters, property damage is being counted.

Speaking to the Fire Police, a witness said that at the time of the incident, the family was using an air fryer on the balcony when a fire suddenly broke out.

Nam Tu Liem District Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
