Mr. Nguyen Van Vi - Principal said that Mon Son Secondary School is located in Mon Son commune - a particularly difficult border commune in the Western region of Nghe An. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school has 17 classes with 583 students, including 82 Dan Lai ethnic students.

Because their homes are 15-20 km from the school and transportation is particularly difficult, they have to stay in the school dormitories, which are built by organizations, businesses and sponsors. During their studies, they encounter many difficulties in eating, staying and living because the support system for them is not enough to cover their daily living expenses.

Every year, the school, the locality and the Mon Son Border Guard Station have to mobilize the Dan Lai ethnic minority students to attend class. However, because they are young and rarely away from home, it is difficult for them to integrate and get used to the communal lifestyle. In this situation, the school's Board of Directors has coordinated with the Mon Son Border Guard Station to develop regulations for mobilizing and managing students in the dormitory.

Mon Son Border Guard Station assigns officers and soldiers to directly manage daily, regularly remind and guide students in eating, living and activities; eat and live with students in the dormitory. Coordinating with officers and teachers, every day 3 comrades guide the students on how to eat, live, do collective activities and study in a serious military style.

In addition, the school creates a playground for physical education, grows vegetables to improve life, and teaches students life skills... From here, students have changed a lot in their awareness and way of living as well as in studying. As a result, many Dan Lai students have won prizes in competitions, many have continued to study in high school and entered the teaching profession.

At the same time, it also helps students of the Dan Lai ethnic group with the model "Accompanying dormitories in border areas" to help them in studying, daily activities and practicing life skills...

In particular, the model of building border dormitories not only helps children have adequate learning conditions but also educates them on lifestyle, ethics, and builds military discipline in them. Hopefully, in the future, among the children being raised, there will be border guards who love their homeland and protect the border.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court assessed that Mon Son Border Guard Station has performed well in the four assigned tasks. These are to firmly protect the border; contribute to building the political system, fighting against crimes in border areas; help and mobilize people to develop the socio-economy; and together with the border guards and people of Laos, build a friendly, peaceful, united and strong border area.

Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh also emphasized that Nghe An is a province rich in revolutionary cultural traditions, and has made remarkable progress in recent years. However, Nghe An still has a number of people in remote areas and ethnic minorities facing many difficulties. Although the province's growth rate in recent times has been very good, it still does not have enough resources to care for people's lives.

Nghe An is one of the few provinces and cities in the country that has been issued a separate Resolution by the Politburo. In addition to the task of socio-economic development and taking care of people's lives, an important task of the province is to ensure national defense, security, and economic development in border areas. The lives of people in border areas of Nghe An province have improved significantly in recent years, including the role of the Border Guard force, which has contributed to enhancing people's trust in the Party and the State.
