Historically, Nam Dinh Club has won the championship twice, the first in 1985 and recently another V-League championship after 39 years. In addition, we also participated in the Asian Cup C2, after winning the National Cup in 2003. This is the second time we have participated in this Asian playground.”

In the first round of V-League 2024 - 2024, in the match against Ha Tinh Club, striker Rafaelson (Nguyen Xuan Son) was not registered to play. Coach Vu Hong Viet said: "In the match against Lee Man Club, Nguyen Xuan Son will definitely participate in the match". With the return of the Brazilian striker, the attack of the team from Thanh Nam will be strengthened.
“Honestly, we don’t know much about Lee Man’s team. We only learned about this team after their last two draws in the national championship. As far as I know, this is a strong opponent, with many foreign players in the squad,” the head coach of Nam Dinh Club commented on his first opponent in the Asian playground.
Rafaelson (Nguyen Xuan Son) will return to the Asian playground, after being absent from the opening match of V-League 2024 - 2025.
In this season's AFC Champions League 2, Nam Dinh FC is in Group G with Lee Man FC, Bangkok United FC, and Tampines Rovers FC. Each group will play a round-robin tournament twice to calculate points and rank. The top two teams in each group will advance to the next round.
