The joy of a "farmer's son" male student
Tran Minh Tri, a 12.1 grade student at Truong Dinh High School, Go Cong Town, Tien Giang Province, has just brought great joy to his parents and teachers when he became the double valedictorian of the Tien Giang Province High School Graduation Exam with a score of 54.95 points (Literature 9, Math 9.6, Foreign Language 8.6, Physics 7.75, Chemistry 10 and Biology 10). In particular, Tri's B group score is also the highest in the province with a score of 29.6 and is in the top 4 candidates with the highest B group scores in the country.
Tran Minh Tri brings pride to his parents when he becomes the double valedictorian of the province.
Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Tri expressed: "My favorite subject is math. When studying, I always research deeply about the nature of math as well as broaden my thinking, learn solid theory to apply in practice. When solving practical problems, I find math extremely interesting."
According to Tri, for students, studying is not easy because there is a lot of knowledge and soft skills in society that need to be cultivated. Therefore, to achieve such high scores, Tri believes that he combines diligence with appropriate learning methods, in which diligence is still very important.
Specifically, Tri will study at school in the morning, study at home in the afternoon, and take a short break every 1-2 hours. In the evening, Tri will summarize what he has done during the day and plan for the next day.

"I rarely study until 1 or 2 a.m., even during the final exam review period. I always try to sleep before 11 p.m. to ensure my health. 2-3 months before the exam, I spend time practicing, doing one test per subject every day and studying more theory so as not to get the easy questions wrong," Tri shared.
After school, when it's cherry season, Tri helps his parents pick fruit, and every day cuts grass for the cows and goats to eat, as well as cleans the barns. For Tri, helping his parents is a joy, and spending time near the fields and trees helps him relax after stressful school hours. "Currently, my family raises 7 cows and 15-20 goats, and also works on nearly 6 hectares of rice fields," Tri said.
Although his family is a farmer, Tri has always been encouraged by his parents, who have given him the important guidance that studying is important. With his love of learning and his own efforts, Tri has been an excellent student for 12 years. This male student won 3rd prize in district-level informatics, 3rd prize in provincial informatics in 7th grade, 2nd prize in provincial youth creativity in 8th grade, and 12th prize in provincial math competition for excellent students. Tri's average score in 12th grade was 9.8. Although English is not his forte, Tri achieved IELTS 6.5.

With such a high score in block B, Tri registered for admission to the medical, dental and pharmacy majors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
"I chose medicine because I want to be able to take care of my parents' health when they get old as well as other family members. Besides, I want to help people around me more, especially the elderly and children," Tri explained.
Because the medical profession is related to human health and life, according to Tri, those who study and work in this profession need to be careful, meticulous, skillful, self-sacrificing and dedicated. "Although the profession I chose is really difficult, I am very happy to have the opportunity to approach this noble field of study," Tri expressed.
After nearly 10 years, Tri is the school's student who won the provincial valedictorian award.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Principal of Truong Dinh High School, Go Cong Town, Tien Giang, commented: "Tran Minh Tri is a very studious student, and has a very good ability to self-study. His parents are farmers, and his house is far from school (more than 10km), but he always tries hard in his studies. In grade 12, Tri won first prize in math in the provincial excellent student competition. With teachers, he is always polite and diligent in learning. With friends, Tri is always sociable and ready to help when needed. The school has students who are the top scorers in the subject groups every year, but the school has only had the top scorers in the provincial graduation exam for about 10 years."
