According to the Mirror , Rooney has been in talks with YouTube's KSI's Misfits Boxing about helping him appear at one of their next events.

And Rooney could be the latest celebrity guest as the former England striker looks to step into the shoes of his childhood favourite.

According to British media, in addition to playing football, Rooney often practices boxing and never misses any major boxing event. He was once asked by his boxer friend Ricky Hatton to bring the world lightweight championship belt to the ring before his match with opponent Jose Luis Castillo in Las Vegas, USA in 2007.
In 2015, Wayne Rooney also shocked fans when he competed in a boxing match with his former Man Utd teammate Phil Bardsley and was knocked out at his own home.
Just a week later, the England striker scored against Tottenham and celebrated in a boxing-style manner before pretending to be knocked out, causing a stir on social media.
