On the evening of November 7, the 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF 2024) officially opened at the Hoan Kiem Theater, Hanoi.
HANIFF 2024 with the slogan “Cinema: Creativity – Take Off” is chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee. This is a cultural and artistic event honoring cinematic works with high artistic value, rich in humanity, and with outstanding and unique international and Vietnamese creative imprints.
The HANIFF 2024 Organizing Committee invited nearly 800 delegates, both domestic and international. In particular, the young cast of the TV series that has been a hit recently – Di giua troi ruc ro – appeared, attracting the attention of a large audience . Among them, the male lead “Chai” Long Vu impressed with his handsome, elegant appearance in a suit. Khanh Ly, who plays Le, is also beautiful, radiant and youthful.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said that the Hanoi International Film Festival has gone through 6 editions and this 7th edition is an important event for Vietnamese cinema, continuing to open up opportunities for international cooperation, helping Vietnamese filmmakers meet, exchange and learn experiences with international directors, producers and film artists.
At the same time, access advanced filmmaking trends and technologies to serve the production of high quality films.
“It can be seen that the Hanoi International Film Festival is not only a unique cultural event but also contributes to promoting the sustainable development of the Vietnamese film industry, helping Vietnamese cinema affirm its position on the world map and make its mark in international integration,” said Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong.

The 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival takes place from November 7-11, bringing together 117 works from 51 countries and territories. Of these, there are 10 feature films, 19 short films, 7 films in the German Cinema Spotlight program, 38 films in the World Cinema Panorama program and 34 contemporary Vietnamese films.
10 feature films will compete for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, and Jury Prize. The closing ceremony and awards ceremony of the 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival will be held on the evening of November 11 at the Hoan Kiem Theater.
