Xuan Quang Bridge and Van Thien Road to Ben En will be technically open to traffic before Lunar New Year 2025

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem requested contractors to take advantage of the sunny weather, actively mobilize machinery and human resources; urgently complete the remaining works, ensuring the technical traffic of Xuan Quang Bridge and Van Thien Road to Ben En before the Lunar New Year 2025.

On the afternoon of January 20, Comrade Mai Xuan Liem, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and representatives of departments and branches inspected the progress of Xuan Quang Bridge and Van Thien - Ben En Road Project to prepare for technical traffic opening. These are two projects invested by the provincial budget, with Thanh Hoa Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem inspected the construction of the sidewalk paving project of the Van Thien - Ben En road project.

The Van Thien - Ben En road project started construction in August 2022, with a scale of a grade III plain road, 4 lanes with a total route length of more than 12 km, designed speed of 80 km/h. The total investment of the project is nearly 1,200 billion VND. The project passes through 2 districts: Nong Cong (Van Thien commune and Thang Long commune) with a length of 5.5 km and Nhu Thanh (Yen Tho commune, Xuan Phuc commune and Ben Sung town) with a length of 6.6 km.

The Van Thien - Ben En road project with a scale of 4 lanes and a design speed of 80 km/h has been basically completed.

As a key project, meaningful in connecting and promoting socio-economic development, unlocking the tourism potential of Nong Cong - Nhu Thanh area in particular and the west of the province in general, the Van Thien - Ben En route has been directed by the Party Committee and authorities at all levels; at the same time, it has received the consensus and support of the majority of households affected by the project. The investor and contractor have also overcome many weather disadvantages due to prolonged heavy rain to strive to complete the project.

The capital plan assigned to the project has reached 90%. Of which, the construction and installation part has been implemented with 632/727 billion VND (87%). The construction work has also been basically completed. Contractors are focusing on constructing sidewalks and paving the 1.7 km road surface (the clean site was just handed over on December 4, 2024); cleaning the road surface for irrigation; completing the installation of traffic safety systems and lighting for the entire route, ensuring completion for traffic opening before the Lunar New Year 2025.

Regarding the Xuan Quang bridge project, this is a part of the project connecting National Highway 1A with National Highway 45 from Hoang Xuan commune (Hoang Hoa) to Thieu Long commune (Thieu Hoa). Xuan Quang bridge crosses Ma river and the road at both ends of the bridge from Km5+250-Km7+250 has a total investment of 655 billion VND, with a length of 1,042m, 25 spans; the starting point is at Km5+250 of the road at the beginning of Ma river bridge, in Hoang Xuan commune (Hoang Hoa); the end point is at Km7+250 at the planned intersection, in Thieu Quang commune (Thieu Hoa).

The Xuan Quang bridge project and the roads at both ends of the bridge have a total investment of 655 billion VND.

The project investment objective is to connect traffic between National Highway 1A, National Highway 45 with the North-South Expressway in the East section through Thanh Hoa province, creating the premise for the formation of modern industrial parks in the region, while shortening travel time between the western districts of the province through Thieu Hoa and Yen Dinh districts with National Highway 1A. In addition, the project also reduces traffic pressure through National Highway 45, National Highway 217 to National Highway 1A; connecting Hoang Hoa and Hau Loc districts with the North-South Expressway.

The contractor is mobilizing maximum manpower to construct the remaining items of the project to open technical traffic before the Lunar New Year 2025.

Currently, the construction of Xuan Quang Bridge and the roads at both ends of the bridge has been basically completed; with the disbursed capital of 632/632 billion VND, reaching 100%. Currently, contractors are mobilizing construction workers in "3 shifts, 4 crews" to complete some remaining technical items such as installing expansion joints, railings, bridge decking, completing the installation of traffic safety systems... to ensure completion for traffic opening before Tet.

Project investor reports construction work.

During the field survey, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem emphasized the importance of these key projects. These are large-scale projects, comprehensively directed by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee from site clearance to construction organization in order to complete them soon, increase regional connectivity; promote industrial, commercial, tourism development as well as people's needs.

Along with checking the actual progress of the project, he requested contractors to take advantage of the sunny and favorable weather, actively mobilize vehicles and machinery; organize urgent construction to complete the remaining work before the Lunar New Year, meeting the travel needs of people during the Tet holiday.

He also requested the investor to monitor and urge contractors to organize and implement construction quickly and promptly, but must meet technical and aesthetic standards.

It is expected that the Xuan Quang bridge and Van Thien road to Ben En will be technically opened to traffic to serve the travel needs during the Lunar New Year. At the same time, Thanh Hoa province will hold an inauguration ceremony on February 9 (ie January 12, At Ty year).
