According to Tien Phong newspaper, from around 1 PM on September 11th, a prolonged traffic jam occurred in the area of Vinh Tuy Bridge heading towards Long Bien, causing hundreds of vehicles to move with difficulty. |
According to local residents, traffic congestion across the Vinh Tuy bridge began on the afternoon of September 10th, when Hanoi experienced heavy rain and the Red River water level rose. |
As of 4 PM on September 11th, traffic congestion on Vinh Tuy Bridge had not improved. Many drivers had to spend more than two hours crossing the bridge from the city center to Co Linh. |
"Normally, traffic on the Vinh Tuy bridge flows very smoothly during heavy rain. Today, the congestion might be due to traffic restrictions on the Chuong Duong bridge and flooding at the Co Linh intersection," said one driver. |
The distance between each car was less than 30 cm. |
The access road to Vinh Tuy Bridge towards Long Bien - Dam Quang Trung Street was also congested with traffic. |
Conversely, the route from Long Bien to Hanoi is clear, allowing people to travel easily. |
