According to the introduction of the staff, since the opening of the sale, this is the first time "boss" Trung has come to attend with the people of Ha Tinh. After a few minutes of waiting, the "boss" appeared and after the initial introduction, he began to inform about common diseases of the elderly such as stroke, apoplexy, then introduced and sold An Cung agarwood products with attractive incentives.

After chatting with the ladies around who had participated many times, I learned that after each presentation about diseases and product introductions, the items were offered at exorbitant prices, such as Black ginseng for 18 million VND, An Cung agarwood for 4.5 million VND... but the following days, the price was reduced by half or more, along with many gifts, VIP cards for loyal customers with discounts when buying the next products... In addition, this facility also sells products such as toothpaste and plasters, all of which contain ginseng.

After only 1.5 hours, the Korean product sharing and selling session ended. Even though we didn’t buy anything, we were still given a coupon, 1 coupon to receive 1kg of white sugar to take home and promised to receive a bottle of fish sauce in the afternoon if we participated.

At first, people came just out of curiosity and to take home gifts. However, my own “experience” shows that if you are not careful, you can easily be persuaded by product advertisements, promotions, etc.

Through our investigation, the facility at 58 Xuan Dieu Street (Ha Tinh City) operates with all necessary requirements. "The locality manages administratively, when the unit submits all required documents, the ward agrees to allow the operation. During the operation of this facility, we also request the ward's functional forces to regularly inspect and monitor" - Chairman of Bac Ha Ward People's Committee Nguyen Duc Hai informed.

It is worth mentioning that in Ha Tinh and especially Ha Tinh city, a similar sales model has appeared in the KINGSAM Korea Ginseng facility. Customers are mainly elderly people, selling Korean functional foods, when they come they also exercise, are cared for and asked, even if they do not buy, they are given gifts to take home... And then, the company left, leaving behind activated carbon mattresses, red ginseng extract... for women and mothers that are not "miraculous" for health as advertised, and did not meet the staff or "bosses" to ask and make recommendations.

Obviously not new, but the "marketing" method of selling gifts to the elderly continues to attract people to learn and "spend money". They "hit" the psychology of the elderly when they are constantly worried about their health, do not want to become a burden to their children when they are sick, with attractive and appealing sales methods.

To avoid "repeating the old story", it is necessary to continue to have the participation of functional sectors and local authorities in State management of contents such as product quality, price, advertising, promotion... In addition, people themselves also need to be alert, vigilant, and compare with similar items before buying.
