The Department of Information Security has just announced that recently on the Facebook Fanpage named “Showbiz Trending – Dua Tin 24h” posted an article titled “Contract No. 1 – Worth 2 million dollars of Pham Nhat Vuong for his pet Xuan Bac and the brand he represents – Tomford”. The content of the article posted: “The signing ceremony was successful, 5000 Tomford discount codes were brought to Vietnam, creating a nationwide perfume earthquake” and to provide information about “3 Tomford perfume codes on sale up to 65%, the price is less than 1 million VND per bottle”.
To increase the persuasiveness of users, this Fanpage also posted edited and collaged images of Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong and People's Artist Xuan Bac to create trust in order to scam and take advantage of consumers.

According to security experts, with the above "fake brand" and "fake artist" scams, the subjects will create many fake Fanpages and social networking sites in a very sophisticated and professional manner. The fake website has an interface that looks like the official website of a famous brand.
Fraudsters may use similar domain names or change a few characters to make the site look legitimate. To increase credibility, fraudsters also create documents, advertisements, or products with the names and logos of reputable brands, and crop images of famous artists.
It is worth mentioning that the posts of the scammers often have extremely attractive content such as promotions, deep discounts, products with super cheap prices compared to the market... to attract attention and deceive consumers. At the same time, the promotional information often includes links, asking users to provide personal information such as citizen identification, phone number, bank account number... The purpose of the bad guys is to steal information, seize bank accounts and defraud victims of money.
A representative of Vingroup Corporation confirmed that there was no cooperation in hunting for sales with the above perfume brand and People's Artist Xuan Bac. The use of images of Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong and People's Artist Xuan Bac is an illegal use of edited images to cause misunderstanding, the purpose is to defraud and sell poor quality products.
