BTO-Binh Thuan Forest Protection Department has just issued a warning of level IV and level V forest fire risk in the province. Accordingly, forest fire warning level IV (very dangerous) is in the districts of Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Tan, Duc Linh, Tanh Linh, Phu Quy, La Gi town and Phan Thiet city. In particular, Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Nam districts are warned of level V forest fire (extremely dangerous).
Specifically, according to the forest fire risk warning information on the forest fire and deforestation management information system of the Forestry Department as of March 29, 2024 and through monitoring weather developments in the province, there have been many days without rain, hot and dry weather, the vegetation in dipterocarp forest and planted forest areas has mostly dried up, there is a very high risk of forest fires.
Therefore, Binh Thuan Forest Protection Department requests the Steering Committee for urgent issues on forest protection and forest fire prevention and fighting (BCH BVR -PCCC) at the district level to communes, wards and towns; District Forest Protection Departments, Nui Ong Nature Reserve and forest owners to continue to strictly implement the plan of the Steering Committee for the Sustainable Forestry Development Program of Binh Thuan province on forest protection, deforestation prevention and forest fire prevention in the province in 2024. At the same time, immediately implement forest fire prevention measures according to the 4 on-site motto. Along with that, strengthen patrolling and inspection of areas prone to forest fires to take proactive measures to control the forest fire situation. When a forest fire is detected, organize fire fighting forces promptly, resolutely not allowing large fires to occur, spreading over a large area causing damage to forest resources.
The provincial Forest Protection Department also requested the district-level Forest Protection Department to advise the district Forest Protection and Fire Prevention Command to direct forest owners and communes with forests to strengthen inspections of forest fire prevention and fighting on-duty at key fire areas and guard posts. The guard force must ensure the prescribed time; stop implementing measures to reduce burning of combustible materials. At the same time, communes propagate on local loudspeakers the strict prohibition of people from burning and clearing fields in forest edges and key areas.
In addition, the provincial Mobile Forest Ranger and Fire Prevention and Control Team is ready with forces and equipment to support forest fire fighting when it occurs in localities and forest owners in the whole province according to the mobilization order. The Management Boards of Protective Forests; Nature Reserves, Forestry One Member Co., Ltd.... need to organize shifts, assign forces to be on duty 24/24 hours regularly at key fire areas, green huts and outside the forest scene, especially during peak hours; promptly detect the time of fire, give the alarm and mobilize forces and equipment to extinguish immediately...
