Concluding the discussion, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat said that research and application of AI has been a strong trend in recent times. Vietnam also has an AI Development Strategy. However, issues related to the impact of research and application of AI on society and people are currently less concerned than the technological aspect.
According to the Minister, the discussion pointed out the impact of AI on society, people, and scientific research activities, including both positive and negative aspects. “We see more clearly the necessity of building a legal corridor for research and application of AI in life,” the Minister emphasized.
The Minister suggested that the functional departments of the Ministry of Science and Technology organize the development of scientific and technological tasks related to AI in the fields of social sciences and humanities, especially in national science and technology programs. In particular, attention should be paid to research on the legal, ethical, and impact aspects of artificial intelligence.
