Can Tho and Havana strengthen cooperation

On June 13, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, received a high-ranking delegation from the capital Havana, Republic of Cuba, led by Mr. Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee, on an official visit to Can Tho City.

At the meeting, Mr. Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar informed about the situation of Cuba, congratulated Vietnam on its achievements, and affirmed the solidarity and attachment of the Cuban people in general and the capital Havana in particular to the people of Vietnam and Can Tho. Mr. Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar also expressed his wish to promote cooperation between Havana and Can Tho City, especially in the field of high-tech development.

Expressing gratitude to the high-ranking delegation from Havana, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu shared more about the potential and strengths of Can Tho in various fields; at the same time, affirmed the policy of the Party and State of Vietnam to attach special importance to strengthening the special solidarity relationship with Cuba.

The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee hopes that the two sides will continue to strengthen and promote investment cooperation in many fields; especially in the fields where Can Tho has strengths. The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee also expressed hope that the two cities will have more information to connect to promote cooperation, companionship and sharing, contributing to deepening the special solidarity between the two countries.
