At the end of 2021, a squadron of 12 modern Yak-130 training aircraft manufactured by the Irkut Aviation Complex (Russia) was equipped for the 940th Air Force Regiment (Air Force Officer School), under the Vietnam People's Air Force.
Since mid-October this year, Air Force Regiment 940 has returned to Air Force Regiment 927 (Kep airport, Bac Giang) to deploy training and be ready to carry out assigned tasks in the coming time. This is the first time the Air Force Officer School has a mobile unit carrying out training tasks far from the stationed area.
Officers and pilots of Air Force Regiment 940 actively studied airport regulations; navigation station arrangement plan at Kep airport; weather rules and conditions; and response plans when situations arise during training.
At the same time, Regiment 940 also ensures technical and logistical coordination closely with Regiment 927, ready to meet the task of ensuring flight training at Kep airport.
