With more than 11 years of experience in trade union activities and the workers' and laborers' movement in enterprises, Mr. Hoang Anh Sang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Sao Mai Joint Stock Company ( Ha Tinh ) always keeps in mind that he must wholeheartedly devote himself to the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
Established in 2009 and officially running the production line since early 2012, Sao Mai Joint Stock Company is one of the first enterprises present in Bac Cam Xuyen industrial cluster; operating in the field of manufacturing and trading packaging products.
Sao Mai Joint Stock Company is one of the pioneering enterprises present in Bac Cam Xuyen industrial cluster.
In the early days of operation, the company encountered many difficulties when it had not yet established its brand in the market and had few orders. Meanwhile, the management team was inexperienced and the direct production workers had not mastered the machinery and technology.
The company has not yet established a systematic and scientific working and salary system. These difficulties have made employees not really trust and commit. Labor turnover occurs frequently, significantly affecting the company's production and business plans and progress.
Faced with the difficulties of young businesses, the Labor Federation of Cam Xuyen district actively mobilized workers and company leaders to establish a grassroots union in December 2012.
Mr. Hoang Anh Sang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Sao Mai Joint Stock Company is a dedicated, responsible person, working for the interests of workers.
Although he had not been working at the company for long, Mr. Hoang Anh Sang (born in 1985) quickly affirmed his professional capacity and prestige with the leaders and colleagues. He was elected as Vice Chairman of the company's Trade Union.
Mr. Sang shared: “Because I am young and have little experience, when I joined the union executive committee, I could not help but feel confused and worried. With the support of the leaders, the trust of the union members, and the encouragement and support of colleagues, we have gradually determined how to operate, approach and solve the problems we are facing.”
Mr. Sang often cares and closely understands the thoughts and aspirations of workers.
The union executive board has closely grasped the thoughts and aspirations of workers to promptly stabilize their thinking; advised the board of directors to promptly issue a number of policies to support and encourage workers; built a team of managers at the team and department levels; and increased the conversion and vocational training of workers.
Along with that, participating in building labor management regulations, salary unit prices and moving towards completing the salary scale, paying insurance for employees. With solid expertise in human resource management, in 2013, Mr. Sang and the Trade Union Executive Committee negotiated with the business leaders, successfully signing the collective labor agreement.
With the active participation of the trade union, workers feel more secure in their commitment to the company.
From here, the union activities became more substantial and systematic, bringing many benefits to union members and workers in the company. In 2015, Mr. Sang was elected as Chairman of the company's union. From 40 initial union members, up to now, the company's union has had 215 voluntary members.
Workers gradually formed the awareness of working in a modern industrial environment, enthusiastically responding to the emulation movement. The company also gradually affirmed its brand and position in the domestic and foreign markets; the average income of workers was 6.8 million VND/month.
The Executive Committee of Sao Mai Joint Stock Company's Trade Union for the 2023 - 2028 term will be introduced to the congress in May 2023.
As the Chairman of the Trade Union and Head of the Organization and Administration Department, Mr. Sang has made great contributions to improving the quality of collective labor agreements with many provisions more favorable than the law for workers such as: increasing meal allowances; paying 13th and 14th month salary; special priority for pregnant female workers and those with young children; all support regimes according to regulations are at the highest level...
Having worked at the company for nearly 10 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - a corner folding worker shared: "The Union Executive Committee in general, and the Union President in particular, are very dedicated to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers; paying attention to supporting and encouraging workers in difficult circumstances. We feel more confident in the union organization and feel secure in our long-term commitment to the company."
The company and grassroots unions were recognized by many levels and sectors.

With his contributions, Mr. Hoang Anh Sang has been awarded the title of excellent worker of the company for many consecutive years; was honored by the Provincial Labor Federation and the Labor Federation of Cam Xuyen district as an exemplary grassroots union president. Sao Mai Joint Stock Company was recognized as an “Outstanding Enterprise” by the Provincial People’s Committee; for many years, it has been recognized as an “Enterprise for Workers” by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Labor Federation of Ha Tinh province...
