Schools actively practice for the Xoan singing performance program on the occasion of Hung Kings' death anniversary.

Despite being busy with work, for over a week now, Ms. Truong Thi Van - Vice President of the Xoan and Phu Tho Folk Song Club of Hung Lo Commune and members of the Club have volunteered to spend time every afternoon to teach the ancient Xoan singing performance to 20 students of Hung Lo Primary School. From the initial confusion, after days of hard practice, the performance "Xin hue do hue" has now been performed quite fluently by the students.

Ms. Truong Thi Van shared: “This is an ancient Xoan tune that requires rhythm from the lyrics to the drum and clapper beats. At the beginning of the singing lesson, many children were still naive and did not know how to walk gracefully with the hand dance, and some did not even know the lyrics. However, after a few sessions of accompanying, guiding, and correcting each movement for the children, we saw that they learned very quickly and were very confident, ready to participate in the upcoming stage performance.”

At Phuong Lau Secondary School, as soon as receiving the directive from the City Department of Education and Training, the school registered the performance and developed a practice plan for students to achieve the highest efficiency. Teacher Nguyen Xuan Kien - Principal of the school said: "Located in the original Xoan ward, we are very aware of our responsibility in participating in the performance program serving the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, which will contribute to promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of our homeland to the majority of people and tourists from all over the country when they return to the Land of Ancestors on this occasion. Therefore, the school's Xoan Singing Club has selected a group of students to participate in the practice. The students are very excited to practice and hope to contribute to the success of the program."

The Xoan singing performance program from the Xoan singing and folk song clubs of the city's education sector is one of a series of unique cultural activities serving the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land this year. Therefore, based on Plan No. 540/KH-UBND dated February 28, 2025 of the People's Committee of Viet Tri city on organizing and participating in the activities of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty 2025, the Department of Education and Training of the city issued an official dispatch directing 15 schools in the area, including 9 primary schools and 6 secondary schools to select each unit a performance of ancient Xoan and developed Xoan melodies. The performances of the schools avoid duplication, ensuring diversity and richness in the true colors of Xoan singing and folk songs.

Students of Phuong Lau Secondary School actively practice to prepare for the performance program serving the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Minh Thinh - Principal of Tan Dan Primary School, Head of the Xoan Singing and Folk Songs Club of the City Department of Education and Training said: “This is an annual activity held every Hung King's Anniversary, attracting a large number of students and teachers. This year's performance program attracts about 450 students and teachers from 15 schools in the city, promising to bring impressive performances to help teachers and students understand and love Xoan folk songs more, thereby creating a spread in the community. Through the performance program, it will contribute to educating love for the homeland and country, helping schools have more motivation to compete in teaching and learning well."

With careful preparation and active practice of the school Xoan Singing Clubs, it is hoped that the performance will also be an opportunity for the clubs to exchange, discuss, and understand the origin, meaning, unique value, and beauty of Xoan Singing. Thereby, raising awareness, perception, and sense of responsibility in the work of preserving, conserving, and promoting the value of cultural heritage, while encouraging and motivating the Xoan Singing and folk song movement, enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the people.
