Countries appreciate Vietnam's ASEAN military medical cooperation initiative

The 11th ASEAN Heads of Military Medicine Conference took place in Brunei Darussalam from June 24-26, 2024 with the participation of representatives from ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste.

Major General Nguyen Truong Giang, Director of the Military Medical Department, led the Vietnamese delegation to the Conference.

The Conference of Heads of Military Medicine is held in rotation among ASEAN countries, following an initiative initiated by Vietnam and hosted for the first time in 2011 to enhance dialogue and cooperation activities in the military medicine sector of ASEAN countries.

During the 3 working days, delegates discussed the topic of Military Medicine and Climate Change Response, thereby promoting experience and practice on the role of the military medicine sector in the face of increasing development challenges today. The Vietnamese delegation actively participated in discussions and contributed to the conference.

On the occasion of attending the Conference, the Military Medical Department delegation visited and discussed with the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei on a number of bilateral cooperation issues between Vietnam and Brunei.
