On November 17, the ceremony to award scholarships to 128 new students from 7 provinces and cities in the Southeast region took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The total value of the scholarships for this ceremony was 2 billion VND (including 124 scholarships worth 15 million VND each for new students and 4 special scholarships worth 50 million VND throughout 4 years of study for new students with especially difficult circumstances).
This is the 12th and final scholarship awarding point in the 2024 "Support to School" scholarship program for new students under the 601st "For Tomorrow's Development" program of Tuoi Tre newspaper. In 2024, the program awarded 1,334 new students in difficult circumstances in 63 provinces and cities nationwide with a total budget of more than 21 billion VND (15 million VND/1 scholarship and 20 special scholarships of 50 million VND/4 school years).
Summarizing the 2024 School Support Program, some sponsors who have been with the scholarship for many years shared about their past and future support.

For many years now, every time the season of Supporting Students to Go to School comes, we have gathered, drafted a letter calling for donations to send to friends, benefactors, officials, employees of the corporation, and then presented the support to Tuoi Tre newspaper. The support from the Vinacam Scholarship Fund is about 2.5 - 3.8 billion VND annually, especially increasing during difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic or natural disasters.
Despite being quite busy with work, I still tried to arrange to attend some scholarship awarding ceremonies in many different areas. It must be said that Tuoi Tre newspaper has opened a very meaningful program and I hope it will spread more widely, last a long time to continue to support many poor students, especially those in difficult areas.
Fortunately, there are new benefactors every year. I suggest that the newspaper should have a column connecting students who have received scholarships to share, consider this as a home to return to and spread the program. If you have the ability to contribute to support students in difficulty, that would be even better.
Personally, every year I try to call for more hearts to join the program to mobilize more to take care of the children. Are you worried if the program continues for many more years? I am not worried! Good things will always spread.

Honestly, every time the school year comes, I have very unusual emotions. Somewhere there is a feeling of anxiety when there are still so many talented new students who are facing extremely difficult situations and can have their studies interrupted if they do not receive initial support. Therefore, I am also easily moved when reading examples of studiousness and strong determination with the dream of studying.
The number and value of scholarships have increased continuously over the years, but that is probably only enough to help you cover the initial expenses of your new journey. This is what I am most concerned about. For me and my brothers and sisters in Binh Dien, the humanity and deep affection of the Tiep suc den truong scholarship is a strong bond. It is the examples of perseverance of new students that are an endless source of motivation for us to work, be creative and make more efforts.
The business situation has fluctuated in recent years. But even so, one thing is certain: when there are lives that need help, and new students in need of support, we are willing to open our arms. The company will continue to accompany and share with society, that is our affirmation.
27.5 billion VND
That is the total amount of money and gifts donated to the 2024 School Support Program. Of which, clubs and scholarship funds contributed nearly 20 billion VND, sponsors and newspaper readers contributed more than 6.2 billion VND, and gifts converted into cash totaled more than 1.3 billion VND.

In the 11th year, my friends and colleagues and I have been accompanying the program. In the first years, I only supported the general scholarship, but seeing that many children were in such difficult circumstances, I agreed to accompany and support some children until they graduated, helping them to study properly.
For the past few years, I have written an open letter to my colleagues and friends every year, asking them to support me, the amount of money each year depending on each person’s financial situation. Because they understand that Tuoi Tre newspaper’s program is so good and meaningful, when I call for donations, many people respond immediately. Some people call me every school year without waiting to receive the open letter.
Along with the scholarship, every year I ask the newspaper to introduce 10 especially disadvantaged and orphaned students to support them throughout their four years of study. When they entered school, they were very poor and had a hard time. Some orphans struggled on their own, but throughout their studies until graduation, they all studied very well and had good jobs. Some students who worked part-time knew how to save money, so they proactively gave up their support to other students who were in more difficult circumstances. That is something I really appreciate and am touched by.
I always thank the newspaper for connecting and supporting because who knows, among the tens of thousands of students who have received scholarships over the years, if any of them had to give up their education opportunities because they were not supported, it would be a pity. I hope to be able to join Tuoi Tre in many community activities, spreading many beautiful stories in society.
