On the morning of September 9, a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province, led by Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, visited, encouraged, and expressed condolences to the family of Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Khiem (from Yen My commune, Yen Mo district), Captain of Company 3, Battalion 1, Brigade 513 (Military Region 3), who died while on duty to prevent and combat storm No. 3 in Quang Ninh.

Accompanying the delegation were comrades: Tran Song Tung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Do Viet Anh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Hoang Ha, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Provincial Party Office, Provincial People's Committee Office.

Carrying out the task of preventing and fighting storm Yagi, on the morning of September 7, 2024, receiving a request from the people of Pat village (Pat village), Luc Hon commune, Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh province, to help reinforce people's houses, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Khiem joined the mobile task force to help the people.

On the way back after getting the materials, seeing his teammate slip and fall, there was a risk of the tree falling and endangering other teammates, First Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Khiem ignored the danger and rushed in to help but was crushed by the tree and fell. His teammates and unit promptly took him to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to the severity of his injuries, First Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Khiem passed away.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem was born in 1997 and enlisted in September 2015. In response to the heroic sacrifice of Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem while on duty, the Minister of National Defense decided to posthumously promote the officer's rank from Lieutenant to Captain; the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union posthumously awarded Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem the "Brave Youth" Badge.

Lighting incense to express condolences to comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem - a son of Ninh Binh who sacrificed his life while participating in storm prevention and control with his comrades, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Mai Van Tuat was very moved and admired by the spirit of self-sacrifice of comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem.

This was truly a brave act, admired and respected by the people. His passing has left behind sorrow for his relatives, comrades, friends and many people across the country.

Kindly visiting, encouraging, and sharing the pain and great loss with the family of comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hoped that comrade Khiem's ​​relatives would try to overcome the pain and soon stabilize their lives. At the same time, he requested that the local Party Committee and government continue to pay attention, encourage, and support comrade Khiem's ​​family both materially and spiritually to help the family overcome the pain and great loss.

The representative of comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem's ​​family expressed sincere gratitude for the timely concern, visit and encouragement of the provincial leaders, all levels, sectors, localities, units, comrades and neighbors. This is a great source of encouragement for the family to overcome this painful loss and soon stabilize their lives.

He also requested local Party committees and authorities to coordinate with relevant sectors to promptly complete the procedures for posthumously promoting officers from Senior Lieutenant to Captain ahead of schedule; posthumously awarding the "Brave Youth" badge of the Central Youth Union; and posthumously awarding the Third Class Labor Medal of the President to Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem.

The Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation requested the locality to coordinate with the military to take care of the funeral of comrade Nguyen Dinh Khiem; continue to care for, encourage and support comrade Khiem's ​​family materially and spiritually, especially creating favorable conditions for jobs so that comrade's relatives can stabilize their lives.
