On the morning of October 5, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected forest fire prevention and fighting work; launched a peak period of clearing and cleaning forests, collecting and utilizing forest products in forest areas damaged by storm No. 3 in some localities in the province.
Checking at Zone 7, Hong Ha Ward, Ha Long City, previously at 12:00 on October 4, a forest fire broke out and by 23:45 on the same day, the functional forces and neighboring wards had coordinated to extinguish the fire; Comrade Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that it is now the dry season, the risk of forest fires is very high. He requested local authorities to strengthen forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting, and arrange guards to proactively detect early risks of fires in order to take timely measures to prevent forest fires from getting out of control.
At the same time, strictly implement the direction in Official Dispatch No. 3575 dated September 26, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting and Official Dispatch No. 3626 dated September 30, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee directing the People's Committees at the commune level and forest owners to strictly implement regulations on forest protection and forest fire prevention and fighting, provide guidance on methods to repair damaged forests after storms, clean forests, and fully exploit forests in accordance with regulations.

In Cam Pha City, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee on the plan to deploy a peak period of support for clearing, cleaning forests, collecting and utilizing forest products in the forest areas damaged by storm No. 3 in some localities in the province, up to now, the city has received requests from 32 forest owners in Duong Huy commune, Cua Ong ward and Cam Pha Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. to propose support for forces and means to collect, clean and clean forests after the storm.
Up to now, the city has provided machinery and equipment to Cam Pha Forestry One Member Co., Ltd., and at the same time developed a plan to implement a peak period of support for clearing, cleaning forests, collecting and utilizing forest products in the forest area damaged by storm No. 3, and is expected to be completed before October 31, 2024.
This morning, Cam Tay Ward coordinated with Khe Sim Company to cut and clear fallen trees in storm No. 3 in the area of Hill 908 adjacent to the residential area of Thong Nhat and Le Loi. Mong Duong Ward arranged forces to support the collection of forest products and forest sanitation on an area of 112 hectares of forest damaged by storm No. 3 of Cam Pha Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. and 2 households in area 9.

During a field inspection in Cam Pha City, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nghiem Xuan Cuong acknowledged and commended the active participation of Cam Pha City in implementing the peak period of supporting forest clearance, sanitation, and collection and utilization of forest products in the forest area damaged by storm No. 3. He requested the city to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the direction of the Provincial People's Committee in Document No. 2798 on strengthening solutions for forest management, protection, and forest fire prevention and fighting after storm Yagi and Conclusion Notice No. 145 of the Provincial People's Committee Office at the meeting to discuss plans to restore forestry production after storm No. 3 and related guiding documents.
Based on the on-site review, Cam Pha City proactively mobilized local forces and means according to the "4 on-site" motto to organize and launch a 30-day and night campaign to support forest owners in clearing and cleaning forests, collecting forest products in damaged forest areas; cleaning and ensuring traffic on forest product transportation routes. The organization and implementation must ensure absolute labor safety, and the allocation of forces must ensure focus and key points, suitable to the reality of each locality.

During the inspection in Van Don, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district to urgently count, consolidate, finalize the current status of the forest and clarify the damage to serve as a basis for compiling records and paying support to forest owners damaged by storm No. 3 according to resolutions and decisions of the Government and the Provincial People's Committee. Van Don district needs to strengthen forest fire prevention, mobilize forces to build firebreaks and continue to support forest owners to recover damaged forests after storm No. 3.
