On the afternoon of September 12, singer Thien Phu and singer Doan Dai Hoa came directly to the headquarters of Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper to join hands to support the people of the North to overcome the consequences of storms and floods. The two singers contributed 50 million VND with the desire to share with the people.
In the spirit of mutual love, from September 10, SGGP Newspaper calls on readers from all over the country as well as those living and working abroad to join hands to help our compatriots in the North overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (super typhoon Yagi). Every contribution, no matter how small, is a valuable spiritual and material support for our compatriots to recover from the storm and flood and soon stabilize their lives.
Responding to the call of SGGP Newspaper, Thien Phu and Doan Dai Hoa sent 50 million VND to share with the people. This amount was taken from the bonus of both of them when they won the "Vietnamese Imprint" 2024 contest. They also donated the remaining amount to support the people of the North through other programs.
“The two brothers, like many others, always turn to our fellow countrymen in the North during this difficult time. In the past few days, hearing news, seeing pictures and clips about storms and floods on TV, newspapers, social networks... my heart feels like it is being squeezed. There are times when I can't hold back my tears because I see the pain and loss that our people are suffering so much. I feel so sorry and pray that the rain will stop and bring peace back to our people. Thien Phu and Dai Hoa agreed to use the prize money from the contest to send to our beloved fellow countrymen in the North. I hope that our people will be safe and get through this stormy season,” singer Thien Phu shared.
Present at SGGP Newspaper, singer Doan Dai Hoa said he was born and raised in Thua Thien Hue, a central province that almost every year suffers from severe storms and floods, so he understands the difficulties and losses every time storms and floods come and go.
“I hope the storm and flood will pass quickly, the pain will subside, and the North will revive strongly and develop sustainably in the days to come. And I also thank SGGP Newspaper for being an effective bridge for young artists to accompany and send their hearts to the people,” singer Doan Dai Hoa expressed.
Misses and runners-up turn to flood victims
Sen Vang Company, along with actress Nhat Kim Anh, beauty queens, runners-up, kings, and sponsors, have joined hands to contribute more than 1 billion VND to support people in flood-hit areas. Of which, actress Nhat Kim Anh contributed 500 million VND.
The amount contributed through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is 700 million VND. The rest was sent by the unit, beauty queens and runners-up such as Tieu Vy, Do Thi Ha, Tuong San, Phuong Nga... through the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the "One Heart" Fund.
“We hope to share some of the material difficulties, although our contribution is small, our affection for the people is great,” said Ms. Pham Kim Dung - CEO of Sen Vang.
On October 12, Miss Luong Thuy Linh (from Cao Bang) also sent 100 million VND to support people in flood-affected areas.
She confided: “During the past few days, Linh has been heartbroken. Linh has kept in touch with her family in the North and Cao Bang to learn about the relief situation, support methods, and how to make her actions most effective at this time, without affecting or hindering the relief work of the local government. Linh has arranged to return, but her mother said that the roads are difficult, the relief work is still difficult, if she returns, she might become a burden on the way if there are any unexpected events, it is best to contribute cash so that the leaders can take care of the people.”
Previously, on September 11, many beauty queens and runners-up also unanimously sent support to people in flood-hit areas such as Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Tieu Vy, Do Thi Ha, Tuong San, Dang Thu Thao, Phuong Nga, H'Hen Nie, Minh Tu, Hoang Thuy, Ky Duyen, Khanh Van, Bui Quynh Hoa... The beauties simultaneously called on people to support people in flood-hit areas to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities.
