Phuong Thanh has just introduced the MV "Me Cung" composed by musician Ha Hanzoo, which will be released on the singer's birthday - May 29.

According to Phuong Thanh, the MV was filmed in the Himalayas (India) at an altitude of 5,200m. Due to the harsh climate, she and her crew spent a lot of time, often waiting a whole week for a day with stable weather to film. Therefore, the MV did not have a specific script but was improvised according to the actual situation.

Phuong Thanh spent a lot of money to take the whole crew to the Himalayas to film the MV.

The MV features 30 artists to celebrate the singer's "upstream journey". Lam Truong plays the male lead but does not appear in the scenes on the mountain. "I let 'big brother' Lam Truong become a Gen Z guy in the MV, so that the girls can 'follow' him" - Phuong Thanh humorously shared.

Phuong Thanh directly took on the drumming part, incorporating Tibetan instruments into the song's arrangement.

Phuong Thanh sings live new song:

Me Cung is part of a project of 5 songs that Phuong Thanh has been nurturing for 12 years. It is expected that from July, the female singer will release the remaining products, including 2 songs composed by musician Duc Tri. She affirmed that the new songs are not commercial music, but Me Cung is the easiest to listen to, so it will be announced first.

"I'm not offended when people say 'out of date'. My new project is not popular but helps me understand who I am and show gratitude for what I've received so far. At my current age, I earn little money because I want to spend time on emotions and bigger things," the singer affirmed. Phuong Thanh said she will organize a live show if her new songs are well received.

Phuong Thanh said she once wrote a status on social media calling on her audience to listen to other people's music, and to see them again in 10 years because she would enter a different phase of her life. "Pretty Sister" explained that at that time she wanted to do what she liked, and boring love songs could no longer "hold" her back.

She added: "Artists often have to stop after getting married because they lose their personal freedom. After giving birth, taking care of the family and worrying about food and money makes artists lose their emotions and romance. Their singing becomes incomplete and half-hearted. I myself have been 'circling around' for a while."
