Fostering knowledge of Party building for journalists

The conference connected to 63 provincial and municipal bridges with nearly 2,000 leaders, reporters, and editors from central and local news agencies and newspapers attending.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Phan Thang An - Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee said that the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system is facing new and higher requirements, requiring good implementation of the key tasks and solutions set forth by the 13th National Party Congress and the conferences of the Central Party Executive Committee.

In the context of the complicated and unpredictable developments in the world and the region, with many difficulties and challenges arising for our country, including the work of Party building, the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting the distorted arguments of hostile forces; strengthening the people's trust and attachment to the Party, the State and the socialist regime; actively fighting against individualism, preventing corruption and negativity, and preventing, repelling and strictly handling cadres and Party members who have degraded in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation"... is a very necessary requirement.

Promoting the implementation of the resolutions and conclusions of the 4th Central Conference (term XI, XII, XIII) on Party building and rectification and the political system, in conjunction with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; promoting cultural values and the strength of the Vietnamese people in the cause of national construction and defense, international integration; arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country... is also very necessary today.

Mr. Phan Thang An hopes that through the conference, reporters and editors will have more knowledge and information to improve the quality of journalistic works on Party building. In particular, more knowledge to protect the Party's ideological foundation, develop theories on Party building and practice of Party building work; reflect new models and creative ways of implementing, studying and effectively grasping the Party's resolutions and the results of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress...

Encourage and promptly disseminate the results and efforts to remove difficulties and obstacles of localities and units to continue to streamline the political system's apparatus to operate effectively and efficiently; build a team of cadres who are both virtuous and talented, on par with the requirements of tasks in the new situation; build the Party in terms of ethics; fight corruption, waste, and negativity...

“Press agencies should be more proactive and innovative in their information and propaganda work on Party building and the political system in the mass media in the direction of combining “building” and “fighting”; in which “building” is the fundamental, long-term strategy, and implementing well the motto of “using positivity to push back negativity” and “using beauty to eliminate ugliness”.

At the same time, we must continue to improve the quality and effectiveness so that the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award becomes an activity of profound political significance, with practical effects on Party building work; making cadres, party members and people increasingly more deeply aware of the Party and the work of Party building and building the political system" - Mr. Phan Thang An emphasized.

During the 1-day period, delegates listened to and discussed 6 topics, including: Protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting to remove bad and toxic information on cyberspace; New contents on Party building and the political system in the resolutions of the 13th Central Conference; Some issues on creating journalistic works in the political genre; Skills in creating radio and television works; Introducing the theme of creating journalistic works on Party building and the political system, new models, creative and effective ways in Party building; Skills in creating journalistic photos and sharing experiences in participating in the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award.
