Ministry of Health receives 500,000 doses of measles vaccine donated by FPT Long Chau

On March 15, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 23/CD-TTg on accelerating vaccination to prevent and control measles. Implementing the Prime Minister's direction, the Ministry of Health issued a plan to implement the 2nd phase of the 2025 campaign and achieved a result of 96.4%, continuing to implement it for the target group of children from 6 months to 9 months old and children from 1 year to 10 years old.

Results after implementing measles vaccination campaigns, compared to the first 3 months of 2025, the measles incidence rate has begun to decrease (6%) in the group from 1 to 10 years old (accounting for 61.4%); decreased slightly (0.4%) in the group under 1 year old (accounting for 2.7%, including children under 6 months old who are not indicated for measles vaccination). However, the measles incidence rate increased by 6.4% in the group over 10 years old (accounting for 35.9%, mainly in the group from 11 to 15 years old accounting for 19.2% and the group over 16 years old accounting for 16.7%).

To continue to organize the measles vaccination campaign for the subjects, quickly control the epidemic, based on the proposed vaccine demand and the scope of the measles vaccination campaign of the provinces and cities, the Ministry of Health has urgently developed and issued Decision No. 1340/QD-BYT dated April 21, 2025 on the plan to implement the 3rd measles vaccination campaign in 2025.

With a high sense of social responsibility and dedication to community health, FPT Long Chau has proactively proposed to accompany the Ministry of Health, officially donating half a million doses of measles vaccine, and at the same time implementing free measles vaccination at the FPT Long Chau vaccination center system for subjects eligible for vaccination according to the Ministry's plan.

It is expected that the first vaccine allocation will be completed before April 30, 2025; the second before May 15, 2025. The Ministry of Health will immediately allocate vaccines to localities to promptly deploy the vaccination campaign.

At the reception ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health, said: The goal of the plan to implement the 3rd phase of the measles vaccination campaign in 2025 is that 95% of children who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine will be vaccinated with 1 dose of measles-containing vaccine.

The target groups of the plan are: Children 6 months of age who have not yet reached the vaccination schedule in the first and second vaccination campaigns in 2025 and children from 6 months to under 9 months of age who have not been vaccinated in the first and second vaccination campaigns in 2025 in high-risk areas, areas with measles cases/measles outbreaks; children from 11 to 15 years old in high-risk/very high-risk communes/wards who have not been vaccinated/have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccines and children with unknown vaccination history or unknown history of measles.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong said that these vaccines will be immediately distributed to localities to speed up the vaccination progress, contributing to disease control in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation, said that FPT is ready to work with the Ministry of Health to promote the digital transformation process in preventive medicine, towards a proactive, smart and sustainable healthcare system.

By donating 500,000 doses of measles vaccine, FPT Long Chau also shows its strong determination and perseverance in accompanying the national health system, contributing to bringing preventive medicine closer to each person, reducing the burden of disease and medical costs in the future.
