Coast Guard Region 3 Command organizes Basic Water Sports Festival

In order to improve the expertise and professionalism of the team of officers and soldiers (CBCS) to meet the requirements of performing tasks in the new situation, on May 27-28, at Squadron 32, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province. The Command of Coast Guard Region 3 organized the 2024 Basic Watercraft Sports Festival.

The sports festival had 5 teams with 45 officers and soldiers from the ship block belonging to the units in the entire Command of Coast Guard Region 3. At the sports festival, the contestants went through 5 competitions including: Theory competition on basic watercraft work and practical competition on circling, rope fighting; throwing bait rope, making mooring rope; spreading and collecting water cannons; rowing a boat. At the end of the sports festival, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Squadron 33, the second prize to Squadron 301, the third prize to Squadron 322 and the Ship Block under Squadron 32.

In his closing speech, Colonel Nguyen Minh Khanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 3, commended and congratulated the units that achieved high results in the Sports Festival.

To successfully carry out the tasks in the coming time, the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff requested agencies and units to continue to promote and improve the quality and effectiveness of training, practice, qualifications and skills for officers and soldiers in basic watercraft work in the ship and boat sector; strictly maintain the training regime, proactively develop a training plan to supplement the missing and weak contents after the Sports Festival; overcome difficulties, propose specific directions and measures for each training content, deploy training for officers and soldiers in the ship and boat sector, ensuring that after training, all officers and soldiers are proficient in operational skills, and handle situations well according to mission requirements.
