On the morning of July 29, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with local authorities and sponsors to inaugurate and hand over the “House of Gratitude” to the family of Ms. Le Thi Ut, Luong Phi Commune, Tri Ton District, An Giang Province. Colonel Nguyen Duc Cau, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Region presided over the handover ceremony.

Ms. Le Thi Ut, born in 1949, is a person who contributed to the revolution. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, she was imprisoned by the enemy and suffered many brutal tortures, extreme punishments, and terrors, but she remained steadfast, not retreating or submitting to the enemy.
At the handover ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Ut emotionally shared: “Before, my family had to live in a temporary, cramped, dilapidated thatched house, so our daily life was very difficult. Now that I am living in a new, spacious, and solid house, I am very happy and excited.”

Colonel Nguyen Duc Cau, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Naval Region 5 Command, said: Based on the plan of the superiors, in the coming time, the unit will continue to coordinate with localities to organize surveys and build "Houses of Gratitude" to give to families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions who are in difficult housing circumstances, contributing to ensuring social security, building new rural areas, creating motivation for households to have more working conditions and production, and improving their lives.
