On the afternoon of June 6, at the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Le Thanh Long, Minister of Justice, as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
Mr. Le Thanh Long was born in 1963, from Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province, and is a doctor of law. He is a member of the Party Central Committee, 12th and 13th terms; and a National Assembly delegate, 14th and 15th terms.
Mr. Le Thanh Long's career began after graduating with a bachelor's degree in law from Azerbaijan State University (former Soviet Union), as a specialist in the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Justice. After that, he held various positions in the Ministry of Justice such as: Secretary of the Minister, Director of the Department of General Lawmaking Issues, Deputy Minister of Justice.
From March 2014 to October 2015, Mr. Long was Deputy Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee. From April 2016 to present, he is Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Justice.
The Government for the 2021-2026 term currently has four Deputy Prime Ministers assisting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, including Deputy Prime Ministers Le Minh Khai, Tran Luu Quang, Tran Hong Ha and Le Thanh Long.
