The Vietnamese shooting team has exceeded the set target by bringing home 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 19th ASIAD, in addition to the final event being competed on September 30 and October 1, which is the men's individual and team event of Le Nghia and Nguyen Hoang Diep; and the women's individual and team event of Hoang Thi Tuat and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai.
Amidst those successes, the Vietnamese shooting coaching staff has made plans for the future in a number of events, when after Pham Quang Huy won the ASIAD gold medal at the age of 27, there are a series of other remarkable young Gen Z talents.
Among them are the beautiful shooters of the women's air rifle category, Le Thi Mong Tuyen (born in 2003, 10 m category), Phi Thanh Thao (2004, 10 m and 50 m), Nguyen Thi Thao (1998, 10 m and 50 m) who came to ASIAD to compete and gain experience.
Competing with excellent shooters from China, Korea, India, Uzbekistan, etc., it is understandable that these 20-year-old Vietnamese shooting girls have not won any medals, especially since Vietnamese athletes often mature later than those in the region for many reasons.

In addition to valuable competition experience, the three young girls of the Vietnamese shooting team also have a little joy, with an impressive collection of badges (pins) from various countries, in a variety of colors, densely attached to the athletes' straps.
At sports events, in addition to professional exchanges, it is also an opportunity for athletes, coaches, volunteers, and the press to exchange badges with each other as souvenirs. Therefore, having a badge strap is a very cool feeling and often attracts admiration from others, even asking to take pictures with you.
When asked, our pretty female shooters giggled with delight. Le Thi Mong Tuyen (from the Ho Chi Minh City delegation) said: "To have a collection of badges like this, we have to be very active in communicating widely with athletes from other countries!".

Standing next to them, Phi Thanh Thao from the army team said: "We ask and exchange with everyone we see. Actually, exchanging badges like this is just for fun, mainly to make friends with other teams to get to know each other better."
Nguyen Thi Thao, a girl from Quang Ninh delegation, said: "We often speak English when we meet. But sometimes you don't know that you can speak Vietnamese, just show your badge and people will understand."
Phi Thanh Thao smiled brightly: "Almost everyone we asked agreed to exchange. Maybe because they were girls, everyone was happy to interact. Up to this point, we still haven't counted the number of badges on them.
During the remaining time at ASIAD 19, we will continue to collect. All of us have prepared many Vietnamese badges to exchange and share with our colleagues at this sports event."
Let's wait for the young girls of Vietnamese shooting to bring glory to the Fatherland in the next few years.
Also, don't be fooled by the young girls. Phi Thanh Thao (born in 2004) is a talented and beautiful "hot girl" of Vietnamese shooting. In 2022 at the 31st SEA Games held in Vietnam, at the age of 18, she won a double gold medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions and 10m women's air rifle.
Meanwhile, the girl Le Thi Mong Tuyen (born in 2003), when she was only 19 years old, also entered the final round of the 2022 Asian Air Gun Championship, ranking 5th with a total score of 631. Those parameters show that after the generation of Hoang Xuan Vinh, the Vietnamese shooting team is doing a good job of developing the next generation.
We can name Pham Quang Huy (born in 1996), Phan Cong Minh (1994), Lai Cong Minh (1999) or Trinh Thu Vinh (2000, won a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics), the trio of female riflemen Le Thi Mong Tuyen (2003), Phi Thanh Thao (2004), Nguyen Thi Thao (1998) promise to bring glory to Vietnamese shooting in the next few years.
